Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings: New 'Up' Attraction Opening in 2027 at Disney Adventure World!

Pixar fans have every reason to be excited: The first attraction based on the beloved film 'Up' now has an official name – Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings. This family-friendly ride will open in 2027 at Disney Adventure World and bring charming, nostalgic flair to Adventure Way.

The attraction is being built in a prime location in Adventure Way, right opposite Raiponce Tangled Spin. Construction is already well underway. The name refers to the Wilderness Explorers, the club of young adventurers that Russell belongs to in the movie. Guests are invited to join this club, earn their 'Aviation' badge and fully immerse themselves in the world of 'Up' – accompanied by the film's unforgettable soundtrack and offering breathtaking views of the surroundings.

Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings is a modern take on the classic flying chair carousel, an iconic attraction type that's been delighting theme park visitors for over a century. At Disneyland Paris, the ride will offer 64 seats on 48 chairs, including several duo seats for riding in pairs. As the carousel spins, the dome above tilts, heightening the exhilarating sensation of flight and adding dynamic movement to Adventure Way. The architecture blends Art Nouveau elements with industrial touches such as wrought-iron arches, balloon and cloud motifs, fitting seamlessly into the theming of Adventure Way. A special highlight: At the top of the attraction, visitors will spot a golden spike representing Carl and Ellie's famous house – a lovely nod to Pascal's silhouette perched on the roof of the nearby Raiponce Tangled Spin.

The adventurous spirit of Russell, Carl, Ellie and their friends is palpable throughout the entire attraction. The queue is divided into four themed zones that represent key moments from the film and will feature decorative banners and iconic props including Carl's childhood aviator helmet and goggles as well as Ellie's adventure book.

Furthermore, Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings will serve as the heart of a new themed garden inspired by 'Up'. Here, guests can stroll through lush, plant-filled landscapes before continuing to explore the immersive worlds of Disney Adventure World.

The Imagineers officially started construction on the attraction in November 2025 – another exciting milestone in the park's major transformation.
