Efteling fans and PSV supporters – listen up! Last Saturday, March 14, PSV Eindhoven stepped onto the pitch in a jersey that brought real magic to the game. The Efteling twinkles didn’t just sparkle across the fabric; they told a full story of wonder, deep regional ties, and a cause that truly matters.
Subtle stars and glitter elements nod to both the enchanting world of Efteling and Philips’ proud heritage. Especially nice: 26 golden accents worked into the red glitter sections – a direct tribute to PSV’s 26 league titles. As a personal homage to Peter Reijnders, the visionary co-founder of Efteling, his original drawings grace the back numbers.
PSV player Paul Wanner proudly posed with the new shirt in front of Symbolica – Palace of Fantasy. One of the best moments during the match against NEC came at halftime, when Pardoes de Tovernar and PSV mascot Phoxy walked out onto the field together and lit up the stadium.
These unique match-worn shirts now have an even better purpose. The players will sign every single one before they go up for auction on the Matchwornshirt platform. All proceeds go to Villa Pardoes, the special holiday villa right next to Efteling. Every week, twelve families with seriously ill children up to the age of twelve get to enjoy a completely carefree, unforgettable week there. For a few precious days, the illness moves into the background while new strength, energy and lasting memories take centre stage.
The partnership between Efteling and PSV runs deep. Back in 1951, Philips gifted the city of Eindhoven a temporary fairy-tale garden. Peter Reijnders brought fairy tales to life with technology and imagination, laying the foundation for the Fairy-Tale Forest we know today. Efteling was founded in 1952. As Philips celebrates its 135th anniversary and the fairy-tale garden marks its 75th year, the two partners are honoring that history – while also supporting their long-standing charity, Villa Pardoes.
Anyone who wants to own a genuine signed piece of this magical collaboration and help families in need at the same time now has a truly special opportunity.
