January 2026 will be remembered by many visitors as one of the most relaxed months of the year at Disneyland Paris. With predominantly low to minimal crowd levels, the park offered numerous days when guests could enjoy the attractions with almost no wait times and plenty of space.
The month started with the tail end of the nationwide Christmas school holidays and the public holidays on January 1, 2, and 6. Until January 7, attendance remained mostly in the low to moderate range. The peak was reached on January 7 with 61.6 percent – the highest value of the entire month. Particularly on January 3 and 7, as well as on Epiphany, there was slightly higher attendance and correspondingly longer wait times. Despite cool temperatures and occasional rain, visitor flow remained stable as both indoor and outdoor areas were equally utilized.
From January 8 onward, calm returned. Until January 16, crowd levels dropped to very low to minimal. The lowest value was recorded on January 13, with only 10.8 percent. During this period, the paths in the park were clear, and attractions were mostly accessible without wait times – perfect conditions for extensive exploration.
The third week, from January 17 to 23, also remained predominantly quiet with low attendance on most days. Only in the final week did visitor numbers rise slightly on the weekends. On January 24 and 31, attendance reached average to slightly elevated levels.
A clear weekly pattern emerged: Saturdays were the busiest, with an average attendance of 54.1 percent, followed by Sundays. Mondays through Fridays, especially Tuesdays and Thursdays, offered the quietest conditions. Throughout the day, the afternoon was traditionally the busiest, while mornings and late evenings were much calmer. Wait times followed this exact rhythm and stayed manageable even in the afternoon.
Particularly interesting for coaster fans: Wait times for top attractions depended heavily on crowd levels. The Princess Pavilion led the ranking with an average of 78.1 minutes, followed by Peter Pan's Flight with 50 minutes. Roller coasters like Big Thunder Mountain and Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain only had noticeable wait times on busier days. Other coasters like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril, as well as classics like Pirates of the Caribbean or 'it's a small world,' ranked in the middle. Family attractions such as Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Le Carrousel de Lancelot consistently had the shortest lines.
Who was January 2026 ideal for? Especially for those seeking short wait times and a relaxed atmosphere. The period between January 8 and 16, as well as January 27, offered optimal conditions with minimal crowds. Families with children and roller coaster enthusiasts particularly benefited from these quiet phases, in which even the major highlights could be experienced without long lines. Less ideal were the Saturdays with higher attendance and January 31 with slightly elevated crowds.
In summary, January 2026 at Disneyland Paris delivered a clear, data-driven pattern: Only a few peaks during the holiday tail and on weekends, otherwise many days with wonderfully low crowds and manageable wait times. The combination of free pathways, fully accessible attractions and short lines made the month the perfect window for relaxed Disney magic.
