Europa-Park donates €5,000 for the renovation of the Europabrunnen in Waldkirch

The owners of Europa-Park, the Mack family, and the company Mack Rides have donated a total of €5,000 for the renovation of the Europabrunnen in Waldkirch. This donation was officially handed over to the city during a symbolic check presentation. The renovation holds special significance for the German-French town partnership between Waldkirch and Sélestat.

The significance of the Europabrunnen for the town partnership

During the check presentation, Mayor Michael Schmieder emphasized the symbolic importance of the Europabrunnen. The connection to Waldkirch's French partner town, Sélestat, makes the project a symbol of cooperation between Germany and France. The mayor of Sélestat, Marcel Bauer, also expressed his delight with the successful renovation of the fountain, whose water flows into the Rhine and merges with the waters from Sélestat.

Mack family's personal connection to Waldkirch

Roland Mack, co-owner of Europa-Park, recalled that his family has deep roots in the region. Paul Mack, a fountain master and ancestor of the Mack family, was born in Waldkirch in 1755. This historical connection makes supporting the project a heartfelt matter for the family.

Support for the renovation

The total cost of the renovation was around €20,000. Thanks to the generous donation from Mack Rides and the Mack family, a significant portion of the funding was covered. At the symbolic handover of the check, alongside the Mack family, Mack Rides CEO Christian von Elverfeldt and Mayor Schmieder were also present.

Focus on German-French friendship

Roland Mack emphasized that Europa-Park embodies the European spirit and actively fosters German-French friendship. With over 2,000 French employees and numerous connections to Alsace, the park brings this partnership to life every day.
