LEGOLAND California invites visitors this Halloween to skip the tricks in trick-or-treating and instead dive into the park's Brick-or-Treat celebration. The highlight is the debut of a massive Halloween tree built entirely from LEGO bricks. The celebration will take place on selected weekends from Sept. 20 to Nov. 1 and offers entertainment for all age groups.
The Debut of the Halloween Tree
This Halloween, LEGOLAND California encourages visitors to forgo the tricks in trick-or-treating and instead immerse themselves in the park's Brick-or-Treat celebration, which is highlighted by the debut of its massive Halloween tree. The tree can scare visitors by following them with its movable eyes and eyebrows as they enter the park.
Technical Details of the Construction
Built from 680,963 LEGO bricks, the 17-foot-tall tree is the park's largest LEGO creation by brick count and required over 4,000 hours to build. Assembled by five master model builders, the structure is 12 feet wide.
Spooky Elements and Effects
In addition to the spooky glances, the tree will also give guests a friendly fright with its sparkling lights and Halloween-themed background music. The Halloween tree also brings some of its spooky LEGO friends to the festivities, as the larger-than-life structure features a black cat perched on its trunk, a spider in its web stretched along the branches, and plenty of ghost friends and pumpkins dangling from its twigs. All these elements are also built from LEGO bricks.
The Brick-or-Treat Celebration
Visitors can view the tree during the park's Brick-or-Treat celebration, which will take place on selected weekends from Sept. 20 to Nov. 1 and offers fun for all age groups. In addition to viewing the friendly but frightening tree, guests can also enjoy live shows, candy stations, and meet-and-greets with LEGO monster characters.
