When the fog thickens and the shadows of darkness select new victims, the malevolent side of Hollywood in Germany shows no mercy. Movie Park Germany will bring the 27th Halloween Horror Festival to life this fall with new devilish ideas. From Sept. 27 to Nov. 9, 2025, experiences under the motto “Your Bloodiest Vacation Ever” will take place on a total of 22 event days. Two new horror attractions, an expansion of Hillbilly Town, and more festival atmosphere make up Europe’s largest Halloween event. Over 280 monsters and four scare zones provide intense scares in the Horrorwood Studios. With the two new horror labyrinths, “Blood Moon Trailer Park” and “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab,” the gates to hell will glow more intensely this year than ever before. This year, the afterlife is quite diverse and lets Europe’s largest Halloween event awaken from its most eerie side again.
New Horror Labyrinths at a Glance
Movie Park Germany will expand the Halloween Horror Festival with two new horror labyrinths. The “Blood Moon Trailer Park” and the “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab” bring the offerings to a total of nine horror experiences. This will mark the first time a horror brand experience is offered in a German theme park. The “Blood Moon Trailer Park” will turn into a bloody nightmare trip. Five hours north of Los Angeles, on the edge of Yosemite National Park, lies this abandoned, decayed, and forgotten place. No reception and no help are available there; only a barely drivable road leads to it. The trailer park was abandoned in the 1970s, officially due to power outages, unofficially due to strange occurrences. In the media, YouTubers reported on abandoned places in California, using map material from the darknet that pointed to lost gas stations, car wrecks, and GPS failures. They planned to spend a night there to generate clicks. But the Redroot Kin, a degenerate bloodline that became more mutated, insane, and cruel from generation to generation, prepared a ritual. Now the 27-year harvest day is approaching, with fresh blood as the main course. Since the YouTubers disappeared, Yosemite National Park has warned against entering the trailer park during the blood moon. Check in – and never check out, for this excursion turns into a bloody nightmare trip.
The new horror experience is being created by the Movie Park Germany creative team on its own and in collaboration with the company “Deko- und Ideenwerk” from Mühlheim. On a 900-square-meter area behind the attraction “The High Fall,” an abandoned trailer park with original American props will be built. Several walk-through RVs and authentic American mobile homes, including one measuring nine by four meters, will find their place there under the blood moon. The experience is aimed at guests 16 and older.
Expansion of Hillbilly Town
The “Blood Moon Trailer Park” will enrich the “Hillbilly Town” area with its own outdoor horror attraction. In addition, “Hillbilly Town” will receive new elements and props. The scare zone has gained popularity since its retheming two years ago. Movie Park Germany strongly orients itself to guest demand and therefore not only creates a new, thematically fitting horror labyrinth in this area but also expands it with details. To give the bloodthirsty cannibals additional interaction opportunities with guests and to show their most gruesome side, a secret surprise is hidden in the area. This will come to life at the start of the Halloween Horror Festival. Then the blood moon will make hell flare up in a new form.
“Hillbilly Town has gained significant popularity since its retheming two years ago,” says Halloween project manager Manuel Prossotowicz. “Since we always strongly orient ourselves to our guests’ demand, this year we are not only creating a new, thematically fitting horror labyrinth in ‘Hillbilly Town,’ but also expanding the area with some details.”
Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab as Brand Experience
After the success of last year’s cooperation, Movie Park Germany will present the first horror-themed brand experience in a German theme park together with Ahoj-Brause. The new maze is being created in collaboration with long-time partner IMAmotion and will occupy part of the event center. In the “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab,” guests can expect a factory tour they will never forget. The popular little packets contain not only effervescent powder but also a portion of fear, terror, and madness. The unwilling path through the seemingly abandoned facility leads to the source of the effervescent drink. Surprises and wrong turns make every visit unique. The recipe should have remained secret, for here visitors become test subjects for experimental mixtures. Ahoj-Brause – It’s all just fun! The ominous effervescent factory is expected to open its doors on Oct. 3.
Unhallowed 2 and Festival Atmosphere
In the live show “Unhallowed 2 – The Freak Show Straight Out of Hell” with award-winning illusionist Christian Farla, a heavenly priest and the devil engage in a bitter fight for the soul of a young woman. The devil waits for the right moment to strike again. Can the priest save her, or will he lose his own soul to hell? An intro film before the show begins sets the ominous scenario. The Farla Showproductions team has new acts and a creepy illusion in the program. A voodoo master makes his stage debut, who not only does eerie things with his body but can also shoot arrows with his feet. A fire breather, a flying pole act, and the “Head Saw Illusion” transport the audience to the underworld. In Studio 7, illusionist Christian Farla brings evil straight from the underworld into the spotlight again and has some updates and new acts ready.DJ Max Bering invites guests to a Halloween party in the scare zone “Acid Rain.” The DJ known from PAROOKAVILLE provides the soundtrack for all who want to insert a party scene into their horror film. In addition to DJ Max Bering on the plaza stage, a new show, a live DJ act, and a newly designed food zone in the back area of the park provide even more festival atmosphere. The Baboo Twister Express in the rear park area will be expanded with a live DJ playing rock music, a thematically fitting show, and a newly designed food zone with cocktails to draw guests deeper into the dark underworld of the festival. To this end, Movie Park is cooperating with radio station Star FM Maximum Rock. On Saturday, Oct. 11, STAR FM DJ Chris Zep will spin and bring the Baboo Twister Express Plaza to life with a mix of pop rock, modern rock, alternative, and classic rock.
The new show “Drums of Doom” combines captivating drum sounds, dynamic dance choreographies, and impressive fire effects. On the Baboo Twister Express Plaza, a new live experience emerges that merges rhythm, movement, and visuals into a performance. Up to three times an evening, the Movie Park Entertainment Crew lets the plaza flare up from its hellish side. So that the shreds fly musically too, the program ensures a more intense atmosphere.
Additional Horror Experiences and Attractions
For the 27th apocalypse, fresh ashes blow over the set of the Horrorwood Studios with the two new horror experiences. The well-known mazes “Hell House,” “Secrets of St. Elmo,” “The Slaughterhouse,” “Circus of Freaks,” “Final Stop,” “Murder Museum” and last year’s novelty, “A Quiet Place” ring in the downfall in proven fashion. The monster parade kicks off the Halloween event days and is led by the dark ruler of the Horrorwood Studios – the diabolical film clapper S.I.K. The hypno-casting blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion. Mind twister Stephan Nölle has prepared his casting studio in the Western Saloon.
After dark, roller coaster bloodbusters await guests. With the “Movie Park Studio Tour – Final Cut,” a fast-paced horror film is produced. The “Baboo Twister Express” lurks in the western area. The Halloween variant of the looping suspended roller coaster draws visitors into new intermediate worlds with light effects and will be newly underscored with a live DJ during the ride. In a play of colors, the wooden roller coaster “The Bandit” shines, and a ride on “Star Trek™: Operation Enterprise” brings light into the darkness.
The Halloween Horror Festival shows more than fear and terror on the special event day on Oct. 11. Together with the U.S. initiative “Haunters Against Hate,” the park’s Halloween team and the over 280 monsters set a sign for tolerance and equality. In addition to a large Halloween parade, the park will symbolically shine in rainbow colors at some spots.
Families can experience the friendly side of Halloween. The popular “Halloween for Kids” will take place again this year in a separate area in Nickelodeon Land and offers crafting activities and games for young Halloween fans.
Tickets and Visitor Information
Movie Park admission tickets include park entry plus the Halloween Horror Festival with a spooky atmosphere on the streets and ominous encounters with monsters in four scare zones. Due to high demand in recent years, Movie Park Germany recommends purchasing an online ticket. Limited ticket contingents on event days make it advisable to plan the visit early and book the first Halloween days as well.Time tickets for the horror houses can only be purchased online and must be booked in addition to park admission. The tickets are expected to be available on Sept. 16 at www.moviepark.de/extras. The park will announce this on its social media platforms.
In addition to a “Speedy Pass Horror,” which provides fast access to five mazes and the freak show, there is a VIP variant. The “S.I.K. VIP Pass” enables visits to all mazes, including the 2025 novelties, reserved seats in the freak show, a VIP parking spot next to the ticket counters, and additional gastronomic services.
“The Halloween Horror Festival shows its darkest side this year too, and we are making new nightmares come true,” says managing director Thorsten Backhaus. “More horror experiences and more festival atmosphere await guests – so we give Halloween an even bigger stage.”
