Hoppers at Disney California Adventure: Mabel’s Seek & Find on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

Attention, Pixar fans! Disney and Pixar’s new movie Hoppers is already a hit in theaters — and its playful, energetic spirit has now arrived at Disney California Adventure Park, turning a longtime classic into an interactive sensation. For a limited time, Mabel's Seek & Find Activity on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disneyland Resort invites guests of all ages on a genuine wilderness adventure. It's the ideal break for families who need a breather from the big thrills.

At the entrance, a friendly Cast Member hands you a pencil and a personalized map. Then it's time to step into your favorite animal — whether King George, the Insect Queen, Ellen Bear or the current star, Tom Lizard — and explore the entire trail. The goal is to bring all the animals back to the glade by completing clever challenges. Right at the beginning you'll tackle tasks at the weather station (finding the temperature reading), turn the dial to reduce harmful frequencies, or spot the Reptile Queens. Later come challenges like "Don't Be a Stranger" — find another lizard and wave hello — and the exciting decoder mission to unlock a secret message from Tom Lizard himself.

Walking under the shady tree canopy, past the iconic Millennium Tree, along the Cliff Hang Traverse Rock and toward Mt. Shasta Lookout and the Hoot-N-Holler Logs, a very special atmosphere develops. Families, grandparents with their grandchildren and even entire school groups are exploring the trail with sparkling eyes. One little girl kept shouting “Lizard, lizard!” excitedly to her family. At the Beaver Dam, a figure of Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) waits for the perfect photo moment. After returning the pencil, you receive the coveted “Challenge Complete!” stickers featuring Tom Lizard and Mabel.

For many visitors, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in the Grizzly Peak area is more than just a great playground — it's a nostalgic throwback. Anyone who climbed here or took a break in the Spirit Cave as a child instantly feels those familiar emotions again. Away from the major coasters, the trail offers the perfect mix of movement, discovery and Pixar magic — and it's completely free. As someone who recently saw Hoppers in theaters, I can say this limited-time experience feels like the perfect extension of the movie and creates memories that last long after the day is over.

Heading to California Adventure this spring? Make sure to add the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail to your plans: a relaxed stroll through nature, sprinkled with Hoppers flair that simply makes you happy.
