Broadway Dreams Show at Europa-Park draws standing ovations

The “Broadway Dreams Show” at Europa-Park delivered the night fans wait for: energy, feeling, and an audience that would not stay seated. In the park’s Italian-themed area, 62 talents from 13 nations shared the stage with international show stars who have all worked more than once on high-profile Broadway productions. They had just finished a one-week musical theater intensive at the TALENT ACADEMY. The crowd answered with prolonged applause and standing ovations.

People in the “Broadway Dreams Camp” had come to Rust from all over Germany, plus Greece, Scotland, England, the Netherlands, Brazil and the United States, ages 9 to 50. The southern Baden town had never seen so many nations in the room at once. Among more than 55 camps worldwide, the camp at the TALENT ACADEMY is treated as an insider tip.

They acted, danced and sang, and the show kept changing shape. Intensive training built confidence and sharpened what each performer already did well. Then they did the harder thing: they turned passion into stage magic. Prominent guests were in the house, including Carolin Niemczyk and Daniel Grunenberg of Glasperlenspiel. So were well-known producers and entertainment-industry names — Steve Bor, creative director and owner of Bor Productions, and Ryan Stana, founder and chairman of RWS Global and chairman of the Broadway Dreams Foundation.

The coveted scholarship went to 14-year-old Alejandra Sabates of France. In November she gets to take a showcase to Broadway in New York. Only the best talents from Broadway Dreams Camps worldwide are nominated. She is already the fifth TALENT ACADEMY member to receive the honor, another sign of how the institution backs its people.

Katja Mack also honored Annette Tanner, founder of the Broadway Dreams Foundation, for 20 years of passion and dedication. Tanner works internationally to support young, aspiring performing artists and offers first-class training programs, workshops and mentoring with experienced Broadway professionals. The foundation’s aim is to grow creativity, build confidence and inspire the next generation, regardless of financial means. The TALENT ACADEMY stands for the same values.

Mack also honored 19-year-old Rhianne McAllister of Scotland for what she can already do. McAllister gets an engagement with the Europa-Park Show Ballet and numerous appearances at Germany’s largest theme park.

Then everyone moved to Bar Colosseo. Artists and audience celebrated the successful event at length. The camp exists because of a partnership Katja Mack started in 2018 between the TALENT ACADEMY and the Broadway Dreams Foundation of the United States. Together they want to strengthen participants, motivate them and leave a lasting mark.
