Diamond Horseshoe pop-up Oct. 4 as Magic Kingdom railroad pauses

The Diamond Horseshoe gets a kitchen again on Oct. 4. Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom Park trades the old family-style menu for a limited Frontier pop-up. Small plates, nonalcoholic drinks, cocktails, wine and draft beer. Disney put out the full menu after showing only a few dishes and drinks earlier in the month. Anyone planning that same fall also has to work around the Walt Disney World Railroad. The trains stay in maintenance from Sept. 28 through Oct. 29, 2026.

Reservations open Sept. 29. Guests without a booking should still get a seat once it starts. The pop-up stays closed during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and open during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Disney has not named an end date. Whether the format stays in Liberty Square or a stage show returns is still open.

The announcement says: "I don't know about you, but this certainly has my boots stompin' and my stomach grumblin'! Saddle up because it's time to look at the kitchen's newest headliners." All offerings remain subject to change and availability.

Table service stopped in May 2026 because Jessie's Roundup needed the room, part of Cool Kids' Summer. The Toy Story dance party "Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue!" opened May 24 and runs through Sept. 8, 2026. BlogMickey.com calls it the first regular live stage show there in more than 20 years. Goofy's Country Dancin' Jamboree ended in 2005. Dining was supposed to return in the fall. It does, as this pop-up.

The building has sat on the Liberty Square-Frontierland line since opening day, Oct. 1, 1971. It began as The Diamond Horseshoe Revue, an Old West saloon show modeled on the Golden Horseshoe Revue at Disneyland. Disney legend Wally Boag helped get it going, Axis Travel Group says. Oct. 4 lands right after the park's 55th anniversary. Before the May pause the house was mostly overflow for Liberty Tree Tavern next door. Shared kitchen, turkey and pot roast family-style.

The plates are for sharing. Charcuterie comes with cured beef, candied bacon, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar and pickles. Glazed Sticky Ribs arrive with cowboy beans and jalapeño crisps. Queso Fundido with Barbecue Burnt Ends comes with warm tortilla chips. Sweet Golden Corn Fritters with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey. Chipotle Chicken Tostada with queso fresco, lime crema and pickled cactus salsa. Mini Hot Dog Platter is pastry-wrapped mini dogs with tortilla chips and a side of queso.

Four drinks skip the alcohol. Orange Cream Soda mixes Fanta Orange with vanilla and cream. Caramel Root Beer with Sweet Cream starts with Barq's Root Beer, caramel flavor, sweet cream on top. Enchanting Ember Lemonade is Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, strawberry and hot honey. Enchanted Grove Lime Splash is Minute Maid Limeade, cucumber and mint.

The Cactus Rose Margarita from the earlier peek stays. LALO Blanco Tequila, prickly pear, lime, agave. Whinnyin' Whiskey Lemonade mixes Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey, Aperol liqueur, strawberry puree, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade and basil. High Plains Huckleberry uses 44° North Mountain Huckleberry Vodka, crème de cassis liqueur, lemon juice and cranberry. Rattler Rum Punch is Bacardí Superior Rum with orange, pineapple, lime and passion fruit, plus a sweet-and-spicy rim. Coal'd Fashioned puts Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon with Mr. Black Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, cinnamon syrup, orange bitters and Angostura bitters. Seasonal pour: In Holiday Fashion, again Buffalo Trace, rosemary syrup, cranberry and cinnamon, for nights when the air cools off.

Wine is Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco, Fess Parker Riesling and MacMurray Estate Pinot Noir. On tap: Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Yuengling Traditional Lager and Cigar City Jai Alai IPA.

Magic Kingdom kept alcohol out for a long time. A ban ran from the 1971 opening until beer and wine arrived at Be Our Guest Restaurant in 2012, with a wider table-service rollout in 2018, Paste Magazine reports. The Beak & Barrel opened in Adventureland in August 2025 as the first standalone lounge pouring drinks without a required meal, according to AllEars.Net. Seating at The Diamond Horseshoe is among the smallest in the park, BlogMickey.com says. Frontierland is in the middle of its biggest rebuild in decades. Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America closed in July 2025 for the Cars land Piston Peak and a Villains land, Mouse Hacking reports.

The Walt Disney World Railroad goes into a routine overhaul. Disney put it on the calendar from Sept. 28 through Oct. 29, 2026. Reopening is set for Oct. 30, 2026, that day from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. After that it stays in shuttle mode, only between the station on Main Street, U.S.A. and the station in Storybook Circus in Fantasyland. Frontierland Station stays closed for Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains land construction. Dates can move. Disney has not given another reason beyond the routine overhaul.

That shuttle has run since July 7, 2025. No Grand Circle Tour. The train goes from the Main Street station to the Fantasyland station in Storybook Circus and back the same way. That day the Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat also closed for good. Disney rebuilt some seats so they face forward both ways. The railroad previously sat idle from Dec. 3, 2018, through Dec. 22, 2022, 1,481 days, while TRON Lightcycle Run went up in Tomorrowland. No routine overhaul since the December 2022 reopening. From at least 2013 through 2017 the trains took roughly a month off each year. Fall plan: lock a table at The Diamond Horseshoe starting Sept. 29, eat in Liberty Square from Oct. 4, and skip the trains from Sept. 28 through Oct. 29.
