Alton Towers Resort announced Final Exhibit as the latest addition to the Scarefest 2026 lineup. The scare maze puts guests in a chilling world of fear and suspense. It opens Saturday, Sept. 26, as part of the annual Halloween event, which runs through Sunday, Nov. 1.
Howard Ebison, vice president of Alton Towers Resort, said, "Inspired by the rich history of Alton Towers, Final Exhibit will be a scare maze like no other. Guests will come face-to-face with truly terrifying characters and finally uncover the long-hidden Alton Towers Resort archives, revealing unimaginable secrets, alongside our returning favorite scare attractions. It doesn't matter whether you are a seasoned thrillseeker or this is your first Scarefest. There is something for everyone this Halloween."
Guests enter a mysterious exhibition of newly discovered Alton Towers artifacts. Then Final Exhibit takes a dark turn. They are drawn into the hidden archive of The Curator, an ominous figure obsessed with preserving the past. Inside, guests meet The Archivists, a silent, hypnotized workforce that obeys every command. The collection is not limited to objects. Those who cannot escape become living exhibits, trapped forever.
That is the hook for Halloween crowds. The maze uses the resort's own past, and The Archivists will not say a word.
The maze joins a packed lineup of scare attractions for 2026. COMPOUND plunges visitors into the depths of a secretive scientific facility. The Edge of the Forest returns with the Leshwall, a sinister spirit said to infiltrate the minds of those who cross its path. Altonville Mine Tours: Tiny's Revenge sends guests through abandoned mines haunted by the elusive Tiny.
Outdoor scare zones are set to make a comeback. Dark Hollow extends the world of TH13TEEN with a free-flowing experience through the Dark Forest, where a ghostly presence watches visitors. Burial Ground introduces The Unchosen, a cult of outcasts rejected by the Wicker Man who inhabit a world between life and death.
Younger visitors are not forgotten. Trick O' Treat Town is a family-friendly walk-through adventure. Amigos in the Afterlife is a colorful journey guided by cheerful spirits seeking their way back to the land of the living.
Scarefest 2026 kicks off Saturday, Sept. 26, and is available to book from then through Sunday, Nov. 1. Go into Final Exhibit if you want the archives. Do not count on leaving as a spectator.
