What happens when Fortnite collides with Halloween Horror Nights? Pretty much what a lot of horror and battle royale fans have been waiting for: a brand-new scare zone that pulls Fortnitemares — the signature Halloween event of the global video game phenomenon — into the parks. And honestly? This might be one of the wildest crossovers of the season.
Halloween Horror Nights puts a twisted spin on Fortnite. Guests don’t just play; they walk into an immersive, high-stakes scare zone inspired by Fortnitemares. It debuts this fall at Universal Orlando Resort beginning August 28, and at Universal Studios Hollywood beginning September 3.
If you know Fortnite, you know it’s more than a match about surviving. It’s a global ecosystem where players create, compete, and hang out with friends in a world that’s always evolving. Fortnitemares, the highly anticipated fall in-game event, brings new characters and horror-themed gameplay together every year — and that energy is what HHN wants you to feel live.
Now Halloween Horror Nights fans get to “drop in” to the world of Fortnitemares. The scare zone leans on ever-evolving environments that keep the pressure up. You enter Freaky Fields: a Halloween-inspired living battleground overcome by a threatening force. Unsettling? That’s the point.
Along the way, guests run into the Battle Bus and familiar Fortnitemares characters — plus a few new additions exclusive to Halloween Horror Nights. Stuff you won’t just pick up in-game. The mission stays simple: escape and claim victory. Classic Fortnite energy, only with real scares around the corner.
Want a piece of the zone before the first scare night? Merch inspired by the Fortnitemares scare zone is already out — graphic tee, decal set, acrylic collectible. Available now at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and on ShopUniversal.com starting Thursday, July 23, at 9 a.m. PST.
Halloween Horror Nights runs select nights at Universal Orlando Resort from Friday, August 28, through Sunday, November 1, and at Universal Studios Hollywood from Thursday, September 3, through Sunday, November 1. More experiences for this year’s event will be revealed soon — so if you don’t want to miss anything, keep watching.
