Heide Park’s Pyro Games and Late Rides: Night thrills ahead

Fireworks overhead, coasters after dark, lasers in the Pirate Arena—that’s the kind of park night that sticks with you. Why is Heide Park Resort especially worth an evening this late summer? Because “Pyro Games” and “Late Rides” turn Northern Germany’s largest theme park into a stage for thrills once the sun goes down.

Daytime action, nighttime atmosphere: guests who ride hard all day and stay for fireworks or after-dark coasters get the mix a lot of fans are after. Thrills and entertainment don’t cancel each other out—and you don’t have to wait for Halloween.

On August 22, “Pyro Games” take over the sky above the park. Glittering stars, glowing comets, and big firework blooms build into a colorful showpiece. Renowned pyrotechnicians compete in music-synced shows packed with innovative effects, sharp brilliance, and intense light. Closing a park day with that is pure adrenaline and emotion. Combo tickets are at www.heide-park.de/events; “Pyro Games”-only tickets come straight from the organizer at www.pyrogames.de.

If Halloween feels too far— the season starts from October 10, 2026—“Late Rides” fill the gap: roller coaster runs in the dark. As dusk settles, the park becomes a sea of lights. Staged lighting makes every ride feel different. In the Pirate Arena, two laser shows with artistry run about 15 minutes each, at 8:15 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Hard thrills meet light art, and only on selected evenings.

On “Late Rides” days the park is open from noon to 10:00 p.m.; waiting areas close at 9:00 p.m. Dates: September 19 and 26 and October 3, 2026. No extra event ticket—regular day admission covers it. Nighttime adrenaline doesn’t need to be complicated.
