Jason Universe at Movie Park Halloween Horror Festival 2026

Jason is walking into Horrorwood Studios for the first time. Guests, the same night, have to face their own fear on stage. For Halloween Horror Festival 2026, Movie Park Germany is running with the motto “Legends Never Die.” The new haunted house “Jason Universe” and “PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show” are built to push guests into new nightmare dimensions.

Some legends write history. Others write bloody nightmares. That gap is what makes Europe’s largest Halloween event this year’s epicenter of terror. With “Jason Universe,” the park unleashes one of the screen’s best-known slashers on its guests. The return of a killer whose brutal legacy has shaped the horror genre for decades breathes terrifying new life into a timeless film universe — right in the heart of Horrorwood Studios, where film and reality blur together.

Studio 7 adds a new, chilling show format. In “PHOBIA – The Live Horror Game Show,” brave guests confront their deepest fears and become part of a nerve-racking game between madness and horror. What awaits them is an unpredictable showmaster, hellish live acts from around the world, freak-show performances and psychological horror, all in one. Anyone who wants to win has to face their own fear.

The returning houses are not frozen in place either. “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab” is getting additional scare elements and an adapted storyline built around a taste test and a testing lab; for the theming, the park is working with Kabuki. The true-crime haunted house “Murder Museum” is receiving an additional scene and expanding to include a pathology room, so the crimes of ruthless serial killers can be put under the microscope even more closely in the spirit of forensic medicine.

“Legends don’t disappear; they evolve. We’re taking up that idea with this year’s Halloween Horror Festival,” says Managing Director Thorsten Backhaus. “We’re creating a connection between the characters and elements that have shaped the horror genre and fresh ideas that make our event feel new again and again. That mix of tradition and innovation is exactly what makes Halloween at Movie Park so special.”

The numbers make it concrete: more than 300 monster performers, nine haunted houses, four Scare Zones and numerous entertainment and scare moments once again transform Horrorwood Studios into a place where film and reality flow into each other. With 22 event days between Sept. 26 and Nov. 8, the 28th Halloween Horror Festival once again raises Hollywood’s darkest side from the dead.

For more than four decades, Jason has ranked among the most defining horror characters in film history. Now the legend is moving into Horrorwood Studios for the first time, taking guests on an ominous journey through his dark film universe. The new Maze brings the horror franchise of parts two through six to life and plunges guests into a world of cruel memories, terrifying moments and deadly dangers, where the boundaries between myth and reality increasingly fade.

“The result is a richly detailed horror attraction that offers guests numerous nods to the cult figure’s legacy and makes this year’s Halloween motto ‘Legends Never Die’ come alive in a special way,” says Halloween Project Manager Manuel Prossotowicz.

The rights holders underscore the reach as well. “The collaboration with Movie Park Germany to bring Jason Voorhees to life in this amazing haunted house is something truly special, especially because it lets us reach fans on an international level,” says Robbie Barsamian, executive vice president at Horror, Inc. “For our horror fans in Europe, this offers an unforgettable opportunity to immerse themselves in the legacy that has thrilled them for decades.”

A total of 14 scenes plus a preshow are featured, including the iconic barn, the camp and the forest typical of this franchise, where more than one victim has lost their way. It isn’t only the iconic splatter legend returning to the Horrorwood Studios set: For the new Maze, Movie Park’s creative team is working closely with the horror experts from Leisure Expert Group and Props & Zo., who were already on the job at the same location a few years ago for “The Walking Dead Breakout.” Leisure Expert Group specializes in haunted houses at many international amusement parks and is responsible for the theming and design of the individual scenes; Props & Zo. handles the construction to make the horror come alive. The new haunted house is intended for all guests 16 and older and replaces the predecessor that has been operating since 2020, “Secrets of St. Elmo – Last Hunt.”

Curtain up for PHOBIA, the new Live Horror Game Show in which the audience becomes part of the experience. With a mix of live entertainment, spectacular show acts and interactive challenges, PHOBIA offers a new Halloween experience at Movie Park that is both entertaining and terrifying. Guiding the evening is the offbeat and unpredictable Rudy von Hell — a crazy show host with dark humor and a passion for pushing participants to their limits. Under his direction, nobody knows what will happen next. With a cast of international artists from Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, disturbing performances and freak acts, PHOBIA combines terrifying surprises with live entertainment and psychological horror. Challenge, performance, scream: each one pulls the audience deeper into the game. The show is conceived and produced by Farla Showproductions. Dave van der Wal appears as show host and transforms Studio 7 into a place of terror.

For the 28th apocalypse, it isn’t only fresh ash blowing across the Horrorwood Studios set. The familiar Mazes “Hell House,” “The Slaughterhouse,” “Circus of Freaks,” “Final Stop,” “Murder Museum” and “A Quiet Place,” as well as last year’s newcomers “Blood Moon Trailer Park” and “Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab,” usher in the horror. The monster march once again opens the gates to hell on every Halloween event day and is led by the dark ruler of Horrorwood Studios — the diabolical clapperboard S.I.K. To make sure the music rips just as hard, DJ Max Bering invites guests to the next Halloween party in the Scare Zone “Acid Rain.” The DJ known from PAROOKAVILLE once again delivers the soundtrack to the apocalypse. Mind-bender Stephan Nölle brings new, creepy hypno surprises to the Western Saloon to make the boundaries between reality and illusion disappear. Babboo Twister Plaza is also welcoming all horror fans back to hell in the rear of the park. A live DJ with rock music, a new show and a food zone with cocktails set an apocalyptic mood; for this, the park is once again cooperating with radio station Star FM Maximum Rock.

After dark, roller-coaster Bloodbusters await guests. With “Movie Park Studio Tour – Final Cut,” a fast-paced horror film is produced. Meanwhile, “Baboo Twister Express” pulls guests in the Western area into new in-between worlds with lighting effects. The wooden coaster “The Bandit” lights up in a play of color, and “Star Trek™: Operation Enterprise” also brings a little light into the darkness.

Halloween can be more than fear and terror. The special event day on Oct. 17 is the proof. Together with the U.S. initiative “Haunters Against Hate,” the park’s Halloween team and the more than 300 monsters of Horrorwood Studios will take a stand for tolerance and equality on the event day’s fifth anniversary. In addition to a Halloween parade, the park will glow in rainbow colors in several places. More information will follow. Families who find demons and monsters too scary can experience the friendly side of Halloween at Movie Park: The popular “Halloween for Kids” is once again taking place in a separate area of Nickelodeon LAND and offers crafts and games for young Halloween fans.

Included in Movie Park admission tickets are park admission plus the Halloween Horror Festival, with a creepy atmosphere in the streets and ominous encounters with the monsters in four Scare Zones. Because of strong demand in recent years, Movie Park Germany recommends that all Halloween fans purchase an online ticket. Because of limited ticket allotments on event days, the park advises planning the visit early and booking the first Halloween days as well. Timed tickets for the haunted houses can be purchased exclusively online and must be booked in addition to park admission. They are expected to be available in mid-September at www.moviepark.de/extras; the park will announce this on its social media platforms. In addition to a “Speedy Pass Horror,” which includes express access to five Mazes and the new Horror Game Show, there is once again a VIP option this year. The “S.I.K. VIP Pass” allows visits to all Mazes including the 2026 newcomer, reserved seats in the Horror Game Show, a VIP parking space next to the ticket booths and additional dining benefits.

From Sept. 26 through Nov. 8, the line still holds: Legends don’t disappear. They evolve — and they make Movie Park Germany the epicenter of terror.
