Mathematics Without Borders 2025: Finale at Europa-Park

The Europa-Park hosted the thrilling finale of “Mathematics Without Borders 2025.” The 2a class from Gymnasium Oberwil in Switzerland clinched victory with exceptional mathematical skills and impressive teamwork. The 10a class from Schule Birklehof in Hinterzarten came in a close second. Around 400 students from Germany, Alsace, and Switzerland tackled the challenge.

Mathematical Showdown in the Ballsaal Berlin

The Ballsaal Berlin at Europa-Park transformed into a hub of intellectual competition. Participants from three countries solved complex problems that demanded not only mathematical prowess but also creativity and collaboration. The competition fosters cross-border team spirit, blending mathematical challenges with international cooperation. After the intense contest, students unwound and explored the park’s 17 European-themed areas.

Origins of a Global Competition

“Mathematics Without Borders,” originally “Mathématiques sans Frontières,” began in Strasbourg in 1989. Since then, it has grown into a global event, present in over 30 countries. More than 200,000 students have participated in this unique initiative, which combines mathematical excellence with cross-border collaboration.
