Efteling fans, here’s some good news: starting Wednesday, July 8, Toko Pagode is back with a completely fresh Asian street food lineup. The spot right by the Pagode has reopened after a proper refresh and now serves up Bao Buns, Onigiri, Gyoza and tasty Boba Teas. With a nice view over the Gondoletta pond and the Pagode offering a bit of shade now and then, it’s the perfect spot to grab something tasty between rides.
The triangular Onigiri – rice snacks with filling wrapped in seaweed – make a great quick bite on the move. You can choose between the vegetarian Spicy Avocado version, Surimi or Chicken Teriyaki, all fresh and just right for a park day. The Steamed Bao Buns stay warm in big steam baskets and let you build your own. Go for Bao Chicken with sesame mayonnaise, atjar and spring onions, Bao Porkbelly with pickled red onion, hoisin sauce and fried onions, or the vegetarian Bao Steak with sticky sesame strips, sriracha mayonnaise, carrot salad and spring onions.
A real standout is the Bao Ice Smash, made right in front of you: a Bao Bun filled with a caramel nut bar, red fruit coulis and white chocolate shavings – sweet, fruity and seriously refreshing. The Gyoza, small steamed dumplings in Chicken or Vegetables, come with fragrant ponzu yuzu sauce, atjar and spring onions and deliver proper flavor. If you’re after something to share, the vegetarian mini spring rolls with sriracha chili sauce and the fried Kara-age chicken with sesame mayonnaise are spot on for family or friends.
And to round things off, the Boba Teas: alcohol-free, carbonation-free drinks with edible colored pearls that not only taste good but also surprise you with their texture. Try Boba Taro & Passion Fruit with coconut milk or regular milk, passion fruit boba, passion fruit syrup and mango foam; Boba Strawberry & Lychee on fruit tea with strawberry boba, strawberry & lychee syrup and strawberry foam; or Boba Blueberry & Yuzu with blueberry boba, yuzu & blueberry syrup and dragon foam. With the new menu and the welcoming terrace, Toko Pagode is now a must for anyone who loves good street food at Efteling.
