Patrick Bruel cancels Nov. 13 concert at Arena Futuroscope

Patrick Bruel will not play Arena Futuroscope on Nov. 13. On Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, he canceled his entire fall tour on Instagram, including the date in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou. The arena was nearly sold out.

Pressure on the singer had grown in recent days. He has been placed under formal investigation for rape and sexual assault. He is the subject, among other things, of at least 31 complaints of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault or sexual harassment. The fall tour was due to start in October 2026 in about 30 cities in France. One stop was Nov. 13 at Arena Futuroscope.

On Instagram, Bruel said he was "taking the decision to cancel these concerts." The tour "has become the embodiment of a debate that goes beyond it," he said. If he "wanted to keep it going until now, it was neither a challenge nor a provocation." He said "the conditions are simply no longer in place" for these "moments of music and sharing." He added: "This decision in no way means that I am giving up on defending myself." He has always maintained that he is innocent.

In late August, about 10 elected officials spoke out, including the mayor of Chasseneuil-du-Poitou. Anthony Brottier, president of Grand Poitiers, backed them. They publicly opposed the artist performing on their territory. The feminist collective Nous Toutes Grand Poitiers launched a petition. Lisa Belluco, lawmaker for the 1st constituency, and the Poitiers collectif movement helped circulate it. More than 330 people signed.

Nov. 13 at the arena is off. The fall tour through about 30 French cities, set to start in October 2026, will not take place.
