PortAventura Charity Dinner Raises €1.9M Across 15 Years

More than 1,100 guests, a milestone anniversary edition, and a total that lands hard: at the 15th Charity Dinner of the PortAventura Foundation, transformation and emotion set the tone. What does that mean for children with serious illnesses and their families—and how did roller-coaster icon Dragon Khan become a symbol of help?

Fifteen years after its first Charity Dinner, the PortAventura Foundation celebrated an edition that coincided with the Foundation's 15th anniversary. The evening brought together more than 1,100 guests and raised €115,150 for the Fundació Doctor Ferran and the PortAventura Dreams Village.

Part of the money will go toward creating a humanized pediatric clinic specializing in complex chronic conditions and palliative care for children in the Terres de l'Ebre region. The rest will help strengthen PortAventura Dreams Village, the Foundation's flagship project. Since 2019, it has offered week-long stays to vulnerable families with children facing serious illness.

Silvia Franch, a pediatrician and researcher at the Hospital Universitari de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta, explains: "Support for children with complex chronic or palliative conditions must begin from the moment of diagnosis and extend throughout the entire process, supporting both the patient and the family. Thanks to the support of the PortAventura Foundation, we have been able to develop the humanized pediatric clinic, offering comprehensive care to children."

Maria Rosa Ripollès, president of the Fundació Doctor Ferran, added: "We all know that cancer is more than a diagnosis, which is why we are glad to have the support of the PortAventura Foundation, who shares our same sensitivity towards supporting children and their families."

Since the first edition in 2011, the Charity Dinner has become one of the province's leading annual solidarity events. Companies, institutions, and social organizations keep showing up—and the numbers show why. Over 15 years, the annual dinner has raised a total of €1,895,157, year after year backing local and regional social organizations and projects.

Josep Andreu, president of the PortAventura Foundation, said: "This edition marks a significant milestone to celebrate the Foundation's entire legacy alongside the network of collaboration built over these fifteen years of social commitment. What we have achieved fills us with pride, but it also encourages us to continue believing in the transformative power of leisure as a tool for cohesion and social change."

That sense of transformation felt especially real in the auction of Dragon Khan Metamorfosi. Local artist Joan Serramià built the sculpture from original pieces of the partial retrack of Dragon Khan carried out earlier this year. One of PortAventura World's great icons became a source of solidarity.

The 15th Charity Dinner once again gathered the wide partner network behind the Foundation's work. As in previous years, organizations stepped in with financial donations, products and services, and experiences for the raffle and charity auction—the same shared commitment that has been there since the very first edition.
