PortAventura Halloween 2026: El Carnicero de Penitence Opens

Halloween takes over PortAventura Park from Sept. 19 through Nov. 15 — nearly 60 days. PortAventura World is raising the intensity and widening the entertainment at the same time. The park is dressing its areas with new scare elements and family offerings. The headline is a Far West premiere: El Carnicero de Penitence, a new terror passage.

That brings the season to five: El Carnicero de Penitence, La Isla Maldita, La Muerte Viva, REC® Experience and Angkor: La leyenda del Rey Caníbal. The new one adds a story the Penitence universe has not told before, set in the Far West of the late 19th century.

Everybody in dusty Penitence knows the butcher. Quiet. Respectable, at least on the surface. His shop supplies the town. Then neighbors start vanishing under strange circumstances, and the sheriff asks visitors to help figure out what is going on. The route runs through the butcher's home and business. Rooms inside take their cue from a butcher shop and a slaughterhouse of the second half of the 19th century, with period details meant to pull you deeper into the Far West. Tension builds the whole way, until the secret he has kept for years comes out. The tone is marked gore — a different kind of scare from the rest of the lineup, and that is how it stretches Halloween at PortAventura World.

The 2026 refresh is not just one new passage. There is a new show in the Saloon, and new street characters will roam PortAventura Park. Entertainment is the through-line: Mediterrània, SésamoAventura, México and Far West all carry pieces of the season, meant to color the whole visit.

Intensities are split on purpose, so families, young people and adults can take the season differently. Kids and families get Truco o Trato, Día de los Muertos, the Halloween Parade, plus entertainment and street characters again. The harder hit sits in Scare Zone La Maldición del Emperador. Halloween here is bigger than the terror passages.

For nearly 60 days the park goes all-in: special decoration in the areas, shows adapted to the season, new characters, specific gastronomic offerings and exclusive Halloween products. The resort brought Halloween to Spain in 2000. That is 27 years of a celebration that is still changing, still adding new experiences.
