Walibi Belgium is hiring 250 talents for Ibilaw: extras, makeup artists & scare trainers

More than 250 openings, a growing horror universe, and a shot at the middle of it all: Walibi Belgium is recruiting for the third edition of Ibilaw. The park wants extras, makeup artists, and scare trainers to bring Bill’s world to life from October 10 through November 11. If you’ve ever wanted to work behind the scenes at one of Belgium’s biggest Halloween events, this is the moment.

Halloween has become Walibi Belgium’s flagship event—for guests and for the people who make the atmosphere work. For Ibilaw’s third run, the park needs 185 extras, including five bilingual French-Dutch actors, plus 30 makeup artists and scare trainers who guide and support extras in their roles. Experience isn’t required. Motivation is. At the same time, some immersive formats are turning into story-driven experiences where characters interact with visitors. That’s why acting or theater backgrounds help—and bilingual French-Dutch extras who can own a character and speak to guests in both languages are especially in demand.

“Extras remain the beating heart of our Halloween experience, and experience is not a requirement at all to get started with us. But as the Ibilaw universe continues to grow, we are also developing more story-driven experiences that call for profiles with a feel for acting or theater. It is an exciting evolution of our Halloween event,” says Antoine Stasse, HR Manager Walibi Belgium – Aqualibi.

Behind the scenes, the park is also hiring about thirty makeup artists. During Ibilaw they turn dozens of extras each day into lifelike monsters with artistic makeup and special effects. Students, recent grads, or industry pros all get hands-on work on a professional team at one of the country’s largest Halloween events. Makeup castings are August 2, 5, and 9; extras on August 3, 6, 11, and 13. Scare trainer interviews are set individually through August. Selected candidates must be free for the training weekend on October 3 and 4 and for Ibilaw’s 20 open days between October 10 and November 11—when haunted houses and scare zones become a full universe.
