Wartezeiten.APP Now Available as Native iOS App with Apple Watch Support

Theme park fans, take note: The Wartezeiten.APP has taken a major step forward. It is now available as a full native iOS app in the App Store – in seven languages and with comprehensive Apple Watch support. The app requires iOS 26 to deliver the best possible experience with its extensive technologies. It bundles live wait times, park status, weather, shows, statistics and smart alerts for more than 40 theme parks worldwide, giving visitors a quick overview of many parks at once – both before the visit and right on site.

Every decision counts in the park. The app displays current wait times, opening hours, status messages such as closed, under maintenance, paused due to weather or only available via Virtual Line, as well as distances and the current crowd level. This makes it easy to see at a glance whether the walk to the other end of the park is worth it or whether a nearby favorite is the better choice. Favorites, filters and flexible sorting help users see exactly the information that really matters for their visit.

The integrated crowd calendar already supports planning from home. Historical statistics reveal which days tend to be busier, when wait times typically increase and which attractions are particularly popular at certain times. Average wait times can be viewed in detail by minute, hour, day, weekday, month or year – supplemented by weather data, precipitation probability and events where available. This allows visitors to plan their day with a better sense of timing and possible breaks.

Another highlight is the customizable alerts. Users decide for themselves which events they want to be notified about: before park opening, when wait times drop, status changes, crowd hints, weather updates, precipitation warnings, Virtual Line availability, park news or show reminders. The rules can be set individually per park and even per attraction so that important changes reach them in time without constant checking.

Apple Watch owners benefit from a dedicated app version that shows parks, favorites, wait times and show times directly on the wrist. Park Radar and attraction complications enable quick checks on the go. At the same time, iOS widgets bring selected park and attraction info to the home screen so important data remains visible without opening the app.

A real highlight is the new map view. Attractions are displayed directly on the park map – including current wait time or status. For parks that provide the data, additional layers for shows, gastronomy and the EP-Express can be activated. Users can use their location, display distances, center the map and hand off destinations directly to Apple Maps.

Depending on the park, further useful information completes the package: current news, show times, gastronomy details including menus, opening status, mobile ordering and even price trends. The app supports dark mode, search, filters, flexible sorting, favorites and multiple languages and remains lean at just over 25 MB.

Transparency is a priority for the app: It is financed through advertising, but all functions are fully usable without a subscription. Those who want an ad-free experience can subscribe for €4.99 per month via Apple in-app purchase. An Android app is currently not planned – the focus is on the iOS version and the website. The app was developed completely in-house without third-party frameworks and thus offers all the functions of the website plus many extras.

With the new iOS app, visitors start their next theme park day with significantly more overview and make decisions with greater confidence – for a more relaxed and better planned experience overall.
