Starting March 29, 2026, Frozen fans at Disneyland Paris will not only step into the long-awaited World of Frozen – they can also dine right in the heart of the Kingdom of Arendelle. The Nordic Crowns Tavern promises a cozy, maritime dining experience packed with loving details from the beloved animated classic, making it the perfect spot after an action-packed day.
The Kingdom of Arendelle, set on the shores of a fjord, has long thrived on maritime trade. Fittingly, the Nordic Crowns Tavern, located just steps from the harbor, feels like the natural gathering place for travelers and sailors seeking a hearty meal between voyages. The warm wood-paneled interior creates an inviting atmosphere, with maritime charts and paintings of majestic fjords lining the walls, while shelves are filled with model ships and books recounting the expeditions that shaped Arendelle’s history.
For the exterior, Walt Disney Imagineering drew inspiration from Bergen, Norway, especially its UNESCO-listed Bryggen district. The characteristic wooden buildings arranged around shared walkways give the impression that two houses share one entrance – a beautiful reflection of the strong bond between Anna and Elsa. “We also applied Anna and Elsa’s colors to the two buildings at the entrance to Nordic Crowns Tavern, with green on one side and blue and purple on the other, echoing the dresses they wear at Elsa’s coronation,” explains Emma Yeates, Senior Manager, Show Design at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris.
In the main hall, the official portraits of the royal sisters take pride of place, framed by sumptuous drapery at the foot of the staircase leading to the upper floor, which remains off-limits to guests. That level is reserved exclusively for the royal family for private dining and special celebrations. Additional hidden gems delight fans: portraits of Olaf, Lieutenant Mattias and the water spirit Nokk, plus a depiction of the Royal Sommerhus from EPCOT at Walt Disney World. The sweetest detail is the cat perched above the entrance door – a direct nod to one of the two cats from the 2017 short film Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
The culinary side continues the full immersion. The menu draws from Norwegian and broader Scandinavian cuisine: hearty salmon or meatballs (available in poultry or vegan versions) and especially tempting frozen desserts featuring subtle Frozen references such as the crocus flower, Arendelle’s official emblem. Every bite becomes part of the magic.
With the opening of World of Frozen on March 29, 2026, Nordic Crowns Tavern will quickly become the ideal spot for guests of all ages to refuel between the big attractions in the heart of Disney Adventure World and soak up the atmosphere of Arendelle just a little longer.
