Disneyland Paris is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Pixar Animation Studios with tributes spanning the parks, hotels, shows and attractions. On the studio’s birthday—the iconic lamp studio founded by Steve Jobs on Feb. 3, 1986—the entire resort comes alive through the lens of Pixar’s most beloved films. Fans can dive into worlds packed with emotion, groundbreaking technology and unforgettable characters.
The success story began with a small team of artists and computer scientists dreaming of fully computer-generated animation. That vision produced masterpieces from the first fully computer-animated feature, Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story” (1995), to the upcoming “Hoppers” and “Toy Story 5.” These films have inspired Disneyland Paris Imagineers from the very beginning.
As early as 1995, the resort celebrated the Toy Story franchise with Totally Toy Story, the first interactive parade in Disneyland Park. Today, guests experience Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast in Discoveryland as an action-packed intergalactic video game, while Disney Hotel Cheyenne proudly displays the colors and style of “Woody’s Roundup” from Toy Story 2. Toy Story Playland at Walt Disney Studios Park was the first fully immersive Pixar land and paved the way for many more.
Additional highlights in Disneyland Park include WALL·E and EVE in Discoveryland, Up elements in Le Pays des Contes de Fées in Fantasyland, the Coco-themed Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia, and the charming Luca extension at Pizzeria Bella Notte.
The crowning experience is the immersive show TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure at Studio Theater in World Premiere Plaza, where the worlds of Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, Up and Coco unite in a spectacular musical journey.
The true heart of the celebration, however, is Worlds of Pixar. Since opening Crush’s Coaster and Cars Quatre Roues Rallye in 2007, guests can drift with Lightning McQueen and Mater, ride the East Australian Current with Crush, explore Route 66, or shrink to toy or rat size—complete with oversized French classics at Bistrot Chez Rémy.
More is on the way: When Disney Adventure World opens, Toy Story Garden will create a lush transition to Toy Story Playland, and new Up tributes will appear in the upcoming Disney Cascade of Lights show and the attraction currently under construction nearby.
Disneyland Paris proves once again: Pixar adventures are truly unforgettable.
