Fans of the popular ARD entertainment show, take note: Starting Sunday, May 31, 2026, “Immer wieder sonntags” with host Stefan Mross returns live from the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort in Rust. The music and entertainment program produced by Südwestrundfunk (SWR) airs Sundays at 10 a.m. on Das Erste and is also available in the ARD Mediathek. Thirteen live episodes are planned for this summer – and it will be the very last season. From 2027 onward, the show will no longer continue.
The season opener on May 31 features, among others, Beatrice Egli, Alexandra Hofmann, Andy Borg, Linda Hesse, Michael Holm, Ramon Roselly, Ronja Forcher, the Nockis and Willly Pichay, last year’s Sommerhitparade winner. Later episodes bring additional stars including Christin Stark, Tim Peters, Olaf der Flipper, Stefanie Hertel, Die Amigos, Ross Antony, Vanessa Mai, Nicole, voXXclub, the Kastelruther Spatzen, die Höhner, Eloy de Jong and Ella Endlich. In total, more than 130 artists will perform across the 13 live broadcasts from the “Immer wieder sonntags” Arena at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort.
A highlight remains the Sommerhitparade: 13 candidates compete in the contest. In each episode, two face off against each other – the order is drawn by lot. The TV audience decides via televoting who advances to challenge the next contestant in the following show. Young talents also get their moment: Children showcase their skills at the “red microphone” in every episode. As always, Holzwurm Willi is part of the fun.
Singer and actress Ronja Forcher returns from the start as reporter. She visits people who have achieved something special and delivers a heartfelt thank-you on their behalf. Stefan Mross takes on various challenges in the “Immer wieder sonntags” Arena and has surprises ready for the audience in every episode – including a song-dating segment. Music remains at the heart of the show: Several celebrities prepare a dish tied to a personal story in the star kitchen under the motto “Gerichte mit Geschichte” right in front of the audience.
The big finale is scheduled for September 6, 2026, followed by a best-of episode with the season’s highlights on September 13. “Immer wieder sonntags” is a production of SWR in cooperation with Kimmig Entertainment. SWR and ARD have jointly decided, for financial and strategic reasons, not to continue the format from 2027 onward – marking an emotional farewell after many successful years.
