Liseberg is breathing a sigh of relief – and rightfully so. After the pandemic, economic turbulence, and the devastating Oceana fire, the popular Gothenburg amusement park closed 2025 with strong numbers: 3 million guests, 100,000 more than the previous year, and an 8 percent revenue increase. For fans, this is a clear signal: Liseberg is back on track toward its former strength and continues to invest in the future.
The annual report presented yesterday shows a noticeable stabilization. Net revenue climbed to SEK 1,696 million (previous year: SEK 1,577 million), driven by higher attendance and increased spending per guest. The park’s own accommodation offerings also grew strongly, with higher occupancy and increased revenue per room. Profit after financial items reached a positive SEK 16 million – a huge leap from the losses of recent years.
CEO Andreas Andersen emphasizes the tough return to normality: “After 17 months of closure in 2020–2021, the post-pandemic market has not been easy for Liseberg to navigate. Even though we are still a business facing major challenges, we conclude 2025 with some optimism.” He points to the “financial backpack” carried from the pandemic and the costs of rebuilding Oceana, preliminarily estimated at just over SEK 1 billion, which Liseberg currently finances itself. Since insurer Trygg-Hansa refused compensation, a lawsuit was filed in July 2025; until resolved, the reconstruction is funded through own funds and loans.
Despite these burdens, profitability is again approaching pre-pandemic levels. “It is positive that, with a stabilized economy and strengthened cash flow, we have the capacity to carry that financial burden,” Andersen continues.
Especially encouraging for fans: the outlook is cautiously optimistic. In 2026, the new family attraction Stormvåg will open, alongside further investments focused clearly on families and Gothenburg residents. This includes a new concert concept for younger audiences on the main stage, Stora Scenen, and continued development of the harbor area, Hamnområdet, with more weekend events featuring food, drinks, and live entertainment.
The figures underscore the recovery: operating profit including Oceana stands at SEK 93 million (previous year: -SEK 423 million), marking a clear turnaround. The equity ratio has stabilized at 29 percent, and total assets continue to grow. Liseberg proves resilience – good news for everyone who loves the park and its unique atmosphere.
