Raya and the Last Dragon: Hidden Movie References in The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge

Raya fans, get ready! To mark the fifth anniversary of the Disney classic “Raya and the Last Dragon,” a brand-new restaurant packed with loving film references is opening at Disney Adventure World. Starting March 29, 2026, The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge in Adventure Way invites everyone into the summer residence of the Disney Princesses. It’s set to become a highlight not just for the food, but especially for its incredible theming.

Nestled between the gardens of Adventure Way and right beside Adventure Bay, the team from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris has woven more than a dozen princesses from distant kingdoms into every corner of the design. Right in the entrance hall that links the restaurant and lounge, nine hand-painted porcelain plates catch the eye. One is dedicated entirely to Raya: the Kumandra flower symbol shines at its center, surrounded by silhouettes of the legendary dragon Sisu and delicate dragon-scale patterns. The plates were created in collaboration with Walt Disney Animation Studios and Royal Delft, the renowned Dutch porcelain maker and official supplier to the Dutch Royal Family.

A long hallway lined with portraits of Disney Princesses leads into the magnificent reception room. Raya appears here too, portrayed in elegant Art Nouveau style and surrounded by organic forms. Bowie Faas, Principal Creative Producer, explains: “We wanted to make sure the Disney Princesses were represented in a style that felt right for the restaurant. That’s why we created these unique Art Nouveau portraits especially for The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge. The princesses are surrounded by organic shapes inspired by nature and plants – so characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The result feels sophisticated and blends perfectly with the setting.” The portrait is completed by a carved frame featuring two golden crests of the Kumandra flower.

In the reception room itself, a stunning mural commands attention. Spanning the entire length of the space, it depicts the Disney Princesses along with Anna and Elsa in casual everyday clothes enjoying a peaceful forest retreat – with The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge nestled right in the center. On the left, Raya sits on a tree trunk playing with the Dragon Gem orb. It’s a rare piece of art that brings together so many beloved Princesses in one scene.

From the hand-painted plates and Art Nouveau portraits to this monumental mural, every detail turns The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge into the perfect second home for Raya and her iconic Disney Princess sisters. A must-visit for fans starting March 29.
