The Europa-Park Resort in Rust has received the “WELCOME BUS – bus-friendly destination” award for the second consecutive year. The Association of Baden-Württemberg Bus Operators (WBO) and the Bus Comfort Quality Association (gbk) presented the honor during the Day of Bus Tourism at the CMT public fair, recognizing both Europa-Park and the Rulantica water world.
This year, only ten destinations across Germany received the award. It honors cities, regions, and companies in the leisure and tourism sector that consciously integrate bus tourism into their planning, adapt infrastructure and services accordingly, and drive fresh momentum with innovative approaches.
According to the experts, the Europa-Park Resort stands out particularly in welcome culture and infrastructure, service quality and customer focus, innovation and future viability, sustainability and environmental awareness, as well as customer satisfaction and feedback culture. These criteria are crucial for bus operators when choosing destinations.
The jury specifically highlighted the well-equipped bus driver lounge, provided free of charge as a retreat for drivers; discounts for drivers; special offers for bus partners; tailored gastronomic options for groups; and the opportunity for drivers to give feedback. The experts describe the Europa-Park Resort as one of the most exemplary destinations for bus trips.
At the same time, the Europa-Park Resort is showcasing a diverse range of offerings until January 25 at the world’s largest public fair for tourism and leisure, the Caravan, Motor, Touristik (CMT) in Stuttgart. At Hall 6, Stand 6D51, the team is providing information about Germany’s largest theme park, the Rulantica water world, the six resort hotels, and the new Silver Lake City.
The stand has already welcomed State Secretary Dr. Patrick Rapp and Christine Schönhuber, managing director of Tourism Marketing Baden-Württemberg (TMBW), who came to learn about the latest developments at the resort. Dr. Patrick Rapp, who visited Rust last summer to see one of the country’s most important tourism destinations firsthand, stated: “Roland Mack is a true pioneer and visionary whose life’s work has profoundly shaped—and continues to shape—the leisure and tourism industry. Through his tireless dedication, he has turned Europa-Park into one of the world’s leading theme parks, putting not only the Black Forest region and the vacation state of Baden-Württemberg, but also all of Germany on the global map of the leisure industry. His courage to break new ground, his innovative strength, and his entrepreneurial spirit are exemplary and inspiring—and he has passed that courage on to his family as well.”
