Europa-Park: Uzbek Staff Celebrate Independence Day with Soccer Tournament

In the Europa-Park Resort in Rust, Uzbek employees recently celebrated their home country's Independence Day with a soccer tournament. For the fourth time, they organized the event, which included Uzbek teams from other German cities. The tournament, held over the weekend, combined team spirit with cultural traditions and ended with a shared meal.

Sporting Gathering in Rust

Athletic team spirit and culinary traditions characterized the gathering in Rust. On the field of SV Rust, seven teams competed, including those from Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, Freiburg, and Rust. After games in the group stage and semifinals, the team from Albstadt won the final.

Event Organization

The tournament was organized by Europa-Park's international recruiting department in cooperation with the Consulate General in Frankfurt. Uzbek Consul Ulugbek Shukurov attended and supported the event.

Reason for Celebration

The event marked Uzbekistan's Independence Day, celebrated annually in September. Even far from home, the soccer tournament allowed participants to honor the day together.

Culinary Highlight

After the competitions, participants gathered at the "Welcome Center 75." There, they enjoyed plov, the Uzbek national dish made from rice, vegetables, and meat. The traditional dish is part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage and provided a fitting end to the day.
