LEGOLAND Windsor Resort turns back the clock: New “1996 High Street” for 30th Birthday

For its milestone 30th birthday, LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has literally turned back time. The popular British theme park has unveiled a brand-new, highly detailed scene in Miniland: the "1996 High Street." It brings the iconic vibe of the '90s back in miniature form and creates a real highlight for nostalgia fans and LEGO enthusiasts alike.

Built with more than 12,000 LEGO bricks, the scene features iconic shop fronts, colorful pick 'n' mix stands, mini '90s pop bands and classic 1996 football moments. The talented model makers spent over 171 hours on the build. The result is a heartwarming tribute to mid-'90s British pop culture, full of little surprises that instantly spark memories for those who lived through the era and inspire today's kids to marvel and play along.

The moment became especially emotional when legendary '90s children's TV presenter Pat Sharp stopped by in person. As an "honorary LEGO model maker," he helped place the final bricks himself.

The "1996 High Street" will stay on display in Miniland until December 2026. It's part of a full year of birthday celebrations. Just a few weeks ago, a giant LEGO birthday cake already wowed visitors: four meters tall and built from 200,000 bricks.

“As we celebrate our 30th year, it’s fantastic to see generations of families come together to create even more awesome memories where imaginations and creativity are unleashed in the world of play. It’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on the iconic '90s era and encourage families of all ages to build with us year after year,” said Ramesh Ganeson, Vice President of LEGOLAND Windsor Resort.
