With the 2026 season just weeks away, Parc Astérix is putting the finishing touches on a truly ambitious project. When the popular French theme park reopens its gates on April 4, visitors will discover a significantly upgraded and more immersive Egypt Zone.
At the heart of the changes is the former Place du Cirque, now renamed Place du Nil. Two iconic attractions are being completely rethemed. Guests will soon be able to experience La Descente du Nil (formerly L'Oxygénarium) and L'Envol d’Ibis (formerly Les Chaises Volantes) in their new Egyptian style.
The project is on an impressive scale. New fountains are being built, trees planted to create lusher vegetation, extensive painting work is underway and striking sculptures are being installed. Every detail has been carefully thought out to immerse guests in a convincing ancient Egyptian atmosphere.
Progress is already clearly visible, and the team is confident this transformation will delight visitors of all ages. Just a little more patience is needed before the refreshed Egypt Zone takes the Parc Astérix experience to the next level from April 4.
