Since March 16, 2026, Parc Astérix has been back on French national television with a new advertising campaign that hilariously plays with the classic stories families tell after coming home from vacation. Created by agency Steve, this family-friendly series with plenty of Gallic humor taps into those holiday memories and positions Parc Astérix as an exciting, easily reachable destination – much closer than most people think.
The real highlight is how immersive the park feels. Every visit is like traveling through several European countries in a single day. From ancient Rome to Greece and on to the wonders of Egypt, the five themed worlds inspired by Asterix and Obelix’s adventures let visitors explore multiple continents without ever leaving the park. The new spots use this brilliantly by exaggerating the typical post-trip family tales – the over-the-top stories, dramatic retellings, and of course the drama of the lost stuffed animal.
In the “Stuffed Animal” spot, a dad asks his son with a straight face: “So where did you lose it – in Greece? Egypt? Or Rome?” The punchline is perfect: The toy never went nearly that far. It was simply lost during a day at Parc Astérix. It’s a moment every family can relate to, turned into classic Gallic comedy.
Even more heartwarming is the “Grandma” spot. Mom picks up the kids after a weekend at Grandma’s, expecting the usual stories about games and cuddles. Instead, she gets tales of epic journeys through Greece, Rome, and Egypt. Her jaw drops until the funny reveal: All those adventures happened in just one day at the park. The scene captures perfectly what makes Parc Astérix so special for families – incredible immersion, thrills, and emotion packed into just a few hours.
“For this new advertising series, we drew inspiration from the theme of travel to position Parc Astérix as an essential family tourist destination. Our five themed worlds, inspired by the journeys of Asterix and Obelix, offer complete immersion in several European countries, so a campaign around this theme was a natural fit for Parc Astérix,” says Karine Moral, Marketing Director of Parc Astérix.
Best of all for families: Children under 12 get free admission until May 7, 2026. The offer applies Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) when you book a dated adult ticket online at parcasterix.fr. Book now to experience the Gallic worlds, rides like Tonnerre 2 Zeus or Trace du Hourra, and the park’s legendary detailed theming – all at a price that makes the “big vacation” feel almost unnecessary.
