Universal Mardi Gras 2026 Kicks Off Tomorrow: New Prince Gator Character, Star-Studded Concerts and Global Flavors at Universal Orlando Resort

Starting tomorrow, February 7, 2026, Universal Orlando Resort transforms into a vibrant Carnaval celebration: Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval runs daily through April 4 in Universal Studios Florida, bringing the unmistakable spirit of New Orleans and Carnaval traditions from around the world right into the park. Alongside the spectacular parade, live concerts featuring stars like Zedd, Bebe Rexha, and The All-American Rejects, and more than 40 international tasting-size dishes, this year introduces an all-new character debut: the adorable Prince Gator.

The parade remains the centerpiece of the event. Twelve elaborately hand-crafted floats celebrate New Orleans – from its food, music, and beads to the bayou – accompanied by energetic street performers, live bands, and thousands of tossed beads. Guests who want to ride along can book the Mardi Gras Float Ride and Dine Experience, which includes a three-course meal.

The 2026 concert lineup is packed with big names: Kaskade kicks things off on February 7, followed by standout performances from Portugal. The Man, Ivy Queen, RuPaul (DJ Set), Shaggy, Tyler Hubbard, Bebe Rexha, Zedd, Barenaked Ladies, and The All-American Rejects (full lineup above).

Food offerings take guests on a global journey: more than 40 sampler items combine New Orleans classics like Baked Cajun Mac & Cheese and fluffy beignets with international specialties – from Verlasso Salmon (Chile) and Ham, Brie & Berry crepe (France) to Vienna-Style Pork Schnitzel (Austria) and Pinchos de Lechón (Puerto Rico). The Food & Beverage Card offers great savings.

A special highlight is the new walkaround character Prince Gator, son of the iconic King Gator. Guests can meet him and take photos outside the Horror Make-Up Show.

The brand-new Mardi Gras Tribute Store in the Hollywood area impresses with neon-themed rooms and the biggest, boldest merchandise collection yet – including Baron Tonton shoulder pals, neon apparel, and beignet plush items.

The party continues at Universal CityWalk (Mardi Gras After Party at Pat O’Brien’s, Cursed Coconut Club) and across the hotels with seasonal specialties. Hotel guests enjoy Early Park Admission and complimentary transportation.
