Bobbejaanland is on the verge of reopening its iconic enclosed coaster, Revolution. With an investment of approximately 1 million euros, the attraction is undergoing significant changes that will elevate the visitor experience to a new level starting March 30.
Revolutionary Changes
The project to overhaul Revolution, known as a crowd favorite, was embarked upon with the aim of better integrating the attraction itself with the surrounding Adventure Valley theme area. According to Peggy Verelst, the park's commercial and creative director, the update includes not only visual refreshments of the entrance area, queue, and station but also technological innovations. Visitors will be introduced to the enhanced story of the time machine through new light and sound effects.
A Deep Makeover
The changes involve the complete gutting and renovation of the station and the relocation and thematic redesign of the queue. Guests will encounter an immersive experience in the jungle of the fictional Southeast Asian country of Khyonesia, where they come across a mysterious depot working on a time machine. Maxim Selis, the graphic designer behind the project, emphasizes that the new story considers the authenticity of the original attraction while bringing the theme of time travel more to the forefront.
Musical and Visual Highlights
Interestingly, the team decided to retain the classic music of the Revolution, while various new sound effects will make the adventure even more impressive. A highlight is the iconic start signal that marks the beginning of each ride. Additionally, a new logo was developed, along with a modernized typeface to mark the visual presence of the coaster.
