The guest parking lot at Disneyland Paris serves as the first point of contact with the magic and is designed with details that reflect the park's identity. Each lane is covered by solar panels supported by structures decorated with medallions. These medallions honor the most famous Disney characters and ensure that guests dive into the enchanting atmosphere as soon as they step out of their vehicles.
Tribute to Walt Disney
The paths from the parking lot to Disney Village and the park entrance were recently enhanced with a new element. They now feature 23 glowing stars preceded by an engraved silhouette of a Mickey Mouse head in the ground. This design pays homage to Walt Disney's famous quote “It was all started by a mouse.” The number of stars was deliberately chosen, as The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923, making it a subtle reference to Disney's legacy. Comprehensive Transformation
Before the parking lot took on its current appearance, it underwent a comprehensive transformation and became home to one of Europe's largest solar canopy systems. The installation includes more than 80,000 panels covering a total of 11,200 parking spaces. It enhances the guest experience by providing shade and protection from direct sunlight, rain, or snow.
Eco-Friendly Benefits
The solar system generates 36 GWh of electricity annually, accounting for about 17 percent of the resort's total consumption. It forms a key part of Disneyland Paris's environmental strategy. In addition, the parking lot has been equipped with more than 500 charging stations for electric vehicles, further strengthening the eco-friendly initiatives.
