Efteling Sets a New Profit Record: €37.8 Million in 2023

Efteling has once again set a financial record. With a profit of €37.8 million in 2023, the theme park surpassed its already impressive result from the previous year. The report highlights an unprecedented number of visitors and significant revenue growth.

Record figures in 2023

In 2023, Efteling achieved a profit of €37.8 million after taxes, an increase from the €33.9 million of the previous year. This success was driven by the highest number of visitors in the park's history: 5.56 million guests visited the park last year. Revenue rose from €265.9 million in 2022 to €288.7 million in 2023.

Increasing Visitor Numbers

The growth in visitor numbers can primarily be attributed to an increase in international guests. Notably, many visitors came from Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom. There was also an increase in the Netherlands, particularly among park subscribers.

Personnel Costs and Employee Numbers

The number of full-time equivalents at Efteling increased by 6 percent, from 1,701 in 2022 to 1,795 in 2023. Correspondingly, personnel costs rose from €81.9 million to €86.9 million. However, the proportion of female employees in leadership positions decreased from 48 percent to 45 percent.
