Voices of Liberty Deliver Emotional Echo Sets on Presidents’ Day at EPCOT

On Presidents’ Day, the rotunda of the American Adventure pavilion at EPCOT became a place of pure goosebumps: The Voices of Liberty performed their rare Echo Sets—an incredible double-cast a cappella experience that unites two ensembles across both levels, filling the space with songs like “Golden Dream” and “This Land is Your Land.” Anyone familiar with the acoustic power and emotional depth of these performances knows why they’re reserved for special patriotic occasions and remain an absolute highlight for many Disney fans.

Since their debut on October 1, 1982, the Voices of Liberty have been an integral part of the American Adventure pavilion in World Showcase. Performing in the grand rotunda, they are renowned for stirring interpretations of American folk songs and patriotic anthems that bring history and spirit to life, setting the tone for the immersive experience millions of guests have enjoyed since the attraction opened. The Echo Sets elevate this to another level: Two full groups sing together, voices echoing through the space, culminating in a finale bathed in red, white, and blue lighting—a moment that leaves even seasoned park fans speechless.

The personal stories behind the voices make it even more moving. Singer Aaron Stratton, a member for over a decade, previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. “Joy is at the heart of everything we sing. When someone in the audience truly connects with what we’re sharing, it energizes us. Sometimes we become emotional, but most of all, it inspires us to dive deeper and deliver the message to its fullest potential,” he says. When he joined in 2013, his older brother was deployed in Afghanistan—certain songs stirred powerful emotions tied to pride in his brother and representing the U.S. Today, he especially values meeting guests from around the world, including those from countries where patriotism is expressed differently, yet they still love being part of the celebration of American history.

Behind the scenes, veterans contribute to the magic as well. Tech planner Patrick Lienemann, also a veteran, ensures the perfect staging. “The Echo Sets are truly special because you have twice the Voices of Liberty—a full cast on the first floor and another on the second. For the big finale, the lights brighten to make the moment feel extra special, and as the singers step forward, the sound fills the rotunda dome. It’s absolutely incredible,” he describes. For him, working during the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations adds a deeper layer: “Being part of the tech team at EPCOT during America’s 250th celebration is incredible on its own, but for me, it goes even deeper. As a veteran, there’s something about it that really touches home—it makes you feel good, makes you feel remembered. And honestly, it’s magical.”

These performances are part of the broader Disney Celebrates America initiative announced by The Walt Disney Company, honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States with special programming through July 4. Fans eager to experience the Voices of Liberty Echo Sets live should mark their calendars: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Veterans Day. A stop at the American Adventure pavilion is always worthwhile—here, America’s story isn’t just told; it’s lived by the people who carry it forward with heart and voice.
