With shining eyes and genuine warmth, Europa-Park has once again proven that it is not only Germany’s largest theme park but also a place of real social commitment. For the 18th time, the festive Berlin Ballroom hosted the charity luncheon in support of Kinderschutzbund Kreisverband Ortenau e.V. More than 200 dedicated women from associations, initiatives, schools, politics, business, culture and medicine gathered and raised an impressive 34,500 euros to help children in the region enjoy a violence-free and protected childhood.
At the invitation of Deputy Chairwoman Dipl.-Ing. Mauritia Mack, the guests experienced an afternoon full of gratitude and powerful messages. Mauritia Mack welcomed everyone and emphasized: “This is not just a good cause; it is a task that we as a society must put front and center every single day. Children need protection, children need reliable contact persons, children need adults who look closely and are willing to act. I am absolutely delighted that we have managed to build a remarkable women’s network over the years, and it makes me proud that over 80 percent of the women present today have been with us from the very beginning. These are women who don’t just talk about responsibility — they live it.”
Edith Schreiner, chairwoman of the association, expressed special appreciation for the Mack family, which has supported disadvantaged people with great drive for over 50 years. “The Mack family gets involved with tremendous drive – and they have been doing so for over 50 years. It is wonderful to see that successful people do not forget those in the shadows. Because there are people who truly need this support. So, on behalf of the children: A heartfelt thank you for this extraordinary commitment.”
As is tradition, the school choir of the Grund- und Gemeinschaftsschule Rust, led by Principal Christian Moser and Vice Principal Britta Schubert, opened the event with a touching performance. Europa-Park artists then delighted the guests with captivating singing, dance and thrilling acrobatics. The Kinderschutzbund is a nationwide non-profit organization and a strong advocate for children, fighting for child protection, children’s rights and better living conditions. Social commitment has always been part of Europa-Park’s philosophy. In addition to the park itself, the following companies supported the event: Weingut Schloss Ortenberg, Südfisch, Vivera, Terra di Tartufi GmbH, Frische Service, EDEKA Foodservice, Coca-Cola, Obere Metzgerei Franz Winterhalter, Mussler Früchtedienst, TransGourmet, R express, Deutsche See Fischmanufaktur and BurdaDirect.
