Hey, food lovers and Europa-Park fans – pay attention! The fine-dining restaurant “Ammolite – House of Light” has just turned a new page. After extensive remodeling, the venue in the lighthouse of the 4-Star Superior Hotel “Bell Rock” at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort was officially reopened on March 17. Led by two-Michelin-Star Chef Peter Hagen-Wiest, it now pairs a fresh, elegant design with the precise, consistent cooking he’s been perfecting for years – the perfect spot for anyone who wants more than just roller-coaster thrills in the park.

The Austrian-born chef has been wowing guests here since 2012, and his exquisite cuisine has now earned two Michelin stars for the eleventh year running. He’s been heading the restaurant for 14 years, with Sous Chef Julian Schmid by his side for nine. The first star came in the opening year, the second followed just twelve months later – and that shine is still going strong.

Thomas Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and the man who launched the fine-dining concept, looks back with obvious pride: “The Ammolite has always been a matter of the heart for me. Nobody would have believed at the beginning that we would be so successful. That’s why I’m even more excited about the reopening with this brand-new design concept.”

The entire lighthouse round now glows in fresh splendor. A separate entrance leads into a modern, understated ambiance that deliberately puts the produce and the kitchen front and center. The room feels more elegant and spacious than ever, enhanced by a perfectly coordinated color and material scheme. The absolute showstopper is the new walk-in WineChamber. An exclusive music mix specially created by internationally successful DJ Jaden Bojsen adds the perfect soundtrack and makes space and time seem to melt together.

“We’re really pleased with the successful redesign. It will give our guests an even more beautiful dining experience – and it inspires the whole team to refine the kitchen with even more attention to detail,” says the star chef.

Hagen-Wiest stays true to his classic European roots, interpreting them with variety and a strong regional touch. Fresh seasonal ingredients, top-quality meat and fish take center stage – much of it coming straight from the resort’s own permaculture garden “Jardin de Marianne” at Château Ollwiller. There, herbs and heirloom vegetables grow completely chemical-free with a focus on soil health that you can actually taste.

The menu blends influences from classical, Mediterranean and international cuisine. Sauces play a starring role, creating the perfect harmony of flavors and concentrating purely on the essence of taste. On the eight-course culinary journey, guests can look forward to highlights such as langoustine with carrot-sea-buckthorn-amarillo. The vegetarian menu shines with fagottini featuring nettle and Parmesan as well as ricotta. Creative finesse and genuine love of detail are always in the foreground – guided by the principle “Less is more.”

Another highlight is the outstanding wine cellar stocked with regional, national and international stars. Sommelier Sascha Schmidt, named Sommelier of the Year 2026, offers advice with sure instinct and elegant attentiveness. Together with Restaurant Manager Lisa-Marie Schmidt, the team creates a warm, personal and attentive atmosphere that perfectly complements the natural elegance of the house.
