Europa-Park is creating an impressive themed flower bed for Chrysanthema in Lahr, linking the motto “Legendary!” with the park's 50th anniversary. Led by Sebastian Elender, operations manager for gardening and landscaping, 20 gardeners transformed Sonnenplatz into a work of art. The flower bed will be on view from October 25 to November 9, 2025, in Lahr's city center.
Expanded Participation for the Anniversary
This year, Europa-Park is broadening its involvement to mark its 50th anniversary. Besides the themed flower bed at Sonnenplatz, a magic show will take place on Family Day, October 27. On November 4, the Europa-Park Dixie Band will perform live from 2 to 6 p.m. These additional elements enrich the festival and offer special experiences.
Design of the Themed Flower Bed
The Europa-Park nursery once again designed an elaborate themed flower bed. This year's Chrysanthema motto, “Legendary!”, aligns perfectly with Europa-Park's 50th anniversary. In a logistical achievement, the makeover of Lahr's Sonnenplatz lasted only about three hours. The outcome is a shimmering flower bed themed “Legendary 50 Years.” At the center stands a “Golden 50” as a water feature, highlighting the anniversary element.
Interactive Elements
The benches arranged around the water feature enable visitors to step into the flower bed, explore it on their own, and spend time there. This invitation fosters an interactive experience for everyone interested. The benches are encircled by heart-shaped arches made from jasmine. The hearts represent the deep connection to all those contributing to Europa-Park's success and the attention to detail that Germany's largest theme park is renowned for.
Colorful Accents and Regional Integration
More than 400 chrysanthemum bushes in five different colors add vibrant highlights to the flower bed. Europa-Park emphasizes involving regional producers and suppliers in its decorative designs and work.

For over 15 years, Europa-Park has backed Germany's unique autumn flower and culture festival, Chrysanthema, with gardening expertise. This enduring partnership highlights the park's dedication to cultural events in the region.
