Europa-Park Saddened by End of “Immer wieder sonntags” from 2027

Fans of classic Sunday entertainment have received sad news: Europa-Park has expressed deep regret over the Südwestrundfunk’s (SWR) decision to discontinue the long-running ARD show “Immer wieder sonntags” starting in 2027.

For nearly 30 years, the program has been closely tied to Europa-Park in Rust and has become a beloved Sunday morning tradition for countless viewers. With its mix of entertainment, positive vibes, musical variety and genuine connection with the audience, “Immer wieder sonntags” has captivated generations and served as a charming ambassador for family-friendly fun and joie de vivre far beyond Baden-Württemberg.

“We are very sorry that such a traditional and extremely popular show will no longer continue from 2027,” said Roland Mack, owner of Europa-Park. “Immer wieder sonntags has built up a loyal fan base over many years and was a fixed part of summer and Sunday mornings for countless people. We respect the SWR’s decision, but we would have loved to continue hosting the show with our attractive setting and full commitment.”

The collaboration with ARD and SWR always involved significant effort on the part of Europa-Park. Over many years, considerable investments were made in infrastructure, organization and on-site conditions to provide optimal production conditions for the show.

Ann-Kathrin Mack, managing partner responsible for marketing and communications, also expressed disappointment: “The Europa-Park has been and continues to be a reliable partner for this format. That is precisely why we had hoped ‘Immer wieder Sonntags’ would continue and remain at home in Rust. The successful show was closely linked with host Stefan Mross for many years. With his personality, down-to-earth nature and closeness to the audience, he played a decisive role in shaping ‘Immer wieder sonntags’ and giving it its unique character.”

In closing, Europa-Park thanks the entire production team, all contributors and the many loyal viewers while looking forward to one final successful 2026 season, which begins on May 31.
