At the start of the 2026 season, the popular Rulantica mascot Snorri stars in a new 4D film in Europa-Park’s Magic Cinema 4D. “SNORRI 4D,” produced by MACK Magic, marks the six-armed sixtopus’s first appearance on the big screen. The family-friendly underwater short film features humor and 4D effects.
The film immerses viewers in the underwater world of Rulantica, offering new perspectives on its inhabitants. It is directed by Thierry Marchand, who received an Oscar nomination for his short film “Oktapodi.” The orchestral score was composed by Hendrik Schwarzer and recorded at Teldex Studios in Berlin.
“SNORRI 4D” is produced by Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and founder of MACK Magic. Production is led by MACK Magic at the studios of its in-house animation company MACK Animation in Hanover, which previously produced the 90-minute feature film “GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE,” centered on Europa-Park mascots Ed & Edda. That film was released in theaters worldwide in the summer of 2025 as a co-production with Warner Bros. Germany.
Rulantica, Europa-Park’s year-round water world and home to mascot Snorri, opened in 2019. It features indoor and outdoor areas with 14 themed sections and more than 50 water slides and attractions suitable for all ages. From January 19 to March 27, 2026, Rulantica hosts the Nordic Festival of Lights with extensive illuminations.
Rulantica also extends beyond the water park in Rust through its story world. The Rulantica novel series and Snorri picture books, created in collaboration with Coppenrath Verlag, have sold more than 400,000 copies worldwide.
