30 Years of LEGOLAND Windsor Resort: Giant LEGO Birthday Cake Unveiled

To mark its 30th birthday, LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has gifted itself what might be the most impressive present ever: a nearly 13-foot-tall birthday cake built entirely from 200,000 LEGO® bricks. Unveiled right now, just in time for the season opening and February half-term, this vibrant masterpiece is a true milestone for LEGO fans and families who have been creating magical memories in the British park since 1996.

Five expert model makers invested 1,000 hours to bring this colossal creation to life. It is not only enormous but packed with thoughtful details: topping the cake are birthday- and Windsor-themed elements, including Woodland Village, Maximus the Sky Lion, Roxie from Minifigure Speedway, and the iconic London Skyline from Miniland. Every feature celebrates the park’s creative history and ties together classic favorites with current highlights—exactly the kind of detail that sends true enthusiasts into raptures.

The moment becomes especially emotional when you consider the people behind the build. Paula Laughton and Paula Young, the park’s longest-serving model maker duo, personally placed the final bricks. Together they bring an incredible 55 years of experience and have brought generations of iconic LEGO builds to life at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort. Paula Young, Head of Creative & Contracts, shares: “In my 27 years at LEGOLAND, this moment is truly special. Unveiling this incredible cake is the perfect way to kick off our 30th birthday celebrations. Every detail captures the fun, imagination, and creativity that has defined LEGOLAND Windsor for three decades.”

Ramesh Ganeson, Vice President of the Resort, looks ahead with excitement to the anniversary year: “Unveiling the giant LEGO cake to open the Resort is just the start of the extraordinary celebrations we have planned throughout 2026—there are more incredible builds and experiences still to come!”

The cake will remain on display all year until autumn, serving as a spectacular kickoff to many more surprises. Anyone wanting to see it in person should mark the Brick Days from February 14 to 23, 2026: alongside the cake, guests can enjoy rides and attractions, new character meet-and-greets, live entertainment, hands-on LEGO building challenges, and the brand-new high-energy 30th Birthday Brick Bash. Day tickets start at £32 (ca. 43.80 US dollars) per person (pre-book online!), with free entry for children under 0.9 meters. The perfect way to launch a year full of LEGO magic
