A’ja Wilson, Malia Baker and JayDon Add Star Power to 2026 Disney Dreamers Academy

Star power is set to take center stage at the 2026 Disney Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World Resort. From March 26 to 29, WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson, actress Malia Baker and singer-songwriter JayDon will inspire and empower 100 selected high school students. The mentoring program combines ambitious career planning with unforgettable Disney experiences and continues to prove why it has been creating real life-changing moments for years.

Malia Baker, known for her breakout role in the 2024 Disney+ hit “Descendants: The Rise of Red” and the upcoming sequel “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland,” has been named the event’s official “DREAMbassador.” The talented actress will spend significant time interacting with the students throughout the multi-day event, sharing her own journey in the entertainment industry and taking part in immersive career workshops and leadership sessions. She will also play a central role at the grand closing celebration, where the Dreamers will be honored for their personal growth and newfound self-confidence.

WNBA icon A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, one of the most dominant and successful players in professional basketball history, wants to share valuable lessons with the Dreamers about perseverance, responsibility and building a winning mindset.

Rising artist JayDon, known as the voice of young Simba in the live-action version of “The Lion King” and for his role as Kenny Payne in the TV series “The Paynes,” will bring genuine stage energy to the event. He will deliver an exclusive live performance for the 100 Dreamers at the closing celebration, thrilling them with his dynamic mix of music, performance and storytelling.

Every year, the Disney Dreamers Academy receives thousands of applications. From communities all across the United States, 100 deserving students are selected based on heartfelt essays about their personal stories and future career goals. Together with a parent or guardian, they are invited on an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort, where they’ll enjoy inspiring workshops, meaningful mentorship and plenty of time to explore all four theme parks with their world-class attractions and entertainment offerings.

Supported by presenting sponsors Partners Federal Credit Union and AdventHealth as well as partners including TELETIES, Spectrum and Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company, the program reflects Disney’s continued commitment to empowering young people from diverse backgrounds. Since its founding in 2008, Disney Dreamers Academy has inspired 1,800 students nationwide. Many have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs, storytellers, engineers, artists, journalists and industry leaders, with some even returning as mentors to guide the next generation.
