When the nights grow longer and autumn arrives, the darkest side of Hollywood awakens at Movie Park Germany. Europe’s largest Halloween event, the Halloween Horror Festival, returns in 2026 with full intensity – and is already looking for new spooky talents! On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the park invites fans to an open monster casting call. Aged 18 and up, enthusiasts who love slipping into other roles can become monsters themselves and deliver fear, adrenaline and unforgettable scare moments to guests. It’s a unique chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at Europe’s biggest horror event.
From September 26 to November 8, 2026, the Horrorwood Studios will once again go into production on selected days. Hundreds of monsters, numerous horror houses and additional program highlights deliver pure thrills for visitors. To complete the creepy cast, the search for fresh blood begins in the summer.
The first step of the monster casting focuses entirely on the optical transformation. Participants create their own, most authentic look as a terrifying creature. Experienced veteran monsters provide valuable tips and tricks. Participants are welcome to bring their own makeup, brushes or costumes. Those who don’t have one will find suitable makeup materials on site. Important: Anyone without their own costume should wear sturdy clothing that can easily handle dirt and stains.
In the second step, participants prove their skills in one of the themed horror houses under realistic conditions. Multiple runs allow them to refine their performance before presenting it to the jury. Key is that applicants are available on as many event days as possible and genuinely enjoy creating professional scare moments for guests.
The meeting point for the monster casting is at 6:30 p.m. at the main entrance of the park, Movie Park Germany, Warner Allee 1, 46244 Bottrop-Kirchhellen. All interested applicants must register in advance by email at [email protected]. On the casting day, a profile photo without costume and a printed resume are required.
The kids’ Halloween in Nickelodeon LAND also remains a fixed part of the program. Movie Park Germany is looking for committed team members aged 16 and older who enjoy working with children. Tasks include supervising various hands-on activities such as face painting or pumpkin carving as well as guiding painting, crafting and game sessions. The park seeks responsible and creative individuals who want to give younger guests a positive Halloween experience. Applications can be submitted via the online application form at movieparkgermany.de/jobs. A separate casting will take place for the kids’ Halloween.
