Europa-Park Apprentice Wins Best Hotel Specialist Title

Carolin von Arend, an apprentice at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort, has won the title of best hotel specialist at the 43rd German Youth Championships in hospitality training professions. After her success at the Baden-Württemberg Youth Championships, she competed at the national level and impressed once more. From October 18 to 19, 2025, the industry's young talents demonstrated their skills in theory and practice at the Steigenberger Icon Grandhotel & Spa Petersberg. The hotel specialists showcased their broad expertise in practical examinations, including reception conversations, preparing a hotel room, and developing innovative ideas for a new hotel mission statement. A jury composed of specialist instructors and experienced industry practitioners evaluated the performances of the young professionals. With support from the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), Carolin von Arend had the opportunity before the championships to expand her knowledge beyond the training curriculum and gain deeper insights into classical hotel management.

Frederik Mack, HR director at Europa-Park, emphasized: “We are incredibly proud of Carolin von Arend and her outstanding performance. She impressively demonstrates how much potential, commitment, and passion our young talents possess. Her success is a clear indication of how practical and high-quality the training at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is.” The family-owned company is regarded as one of the leading training providers in the leisure and tourism sector.

About 235 apprentices are currently completing their professional qualifications at the Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort. Germany's largest theme park offers an exceptionally diverse range of training opportunities with a total of 33 recognized training professions and 13 dual study programs. These span from hotel management and gastronomy to technology, crafts, administration, and event and personnel services. This year, the company was once again recognized by “Rolling Pin” as a “Top Employer,” underscoring its outstanding role as an attractive training provider and employer.
