In a ceremonial setting, Europa-Park celebrated the groundbreaking for a new employee restaurant with an integrated central kitchen on December 3. The project will span 4,500 square meters over four floors and offer culinary variety as well as comfortable work and leisure spaces for employees from more than 100 nations. The opening is scheduled for August 2026.
The new building at Europa-Park combines functionality with a sense of well-being. On the ground floor, a state-of-the-art production kitchen will serve as the central kitchen for the entire theme park. Up to 1,800 meals can be prepared and served there daily. Distributed across the floors, the restaurant will provide 560 seats where employees can not only dine but also take time to exchange ideas and network.
Ann-Kathrin Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park, emphasized the significance of the project during the ceremony. “We are a company where people from more than 100 nations work together today. To ensure everyone feels at home, reliable infrastructure is crucial. Projects like this represent something deeply rooted in our values as a family-owned business. We invest with full conviction in the future of our employees because they are a key pillar of our success.” The new construction responds to the growth of the workforce and strengthens cohesion.
Charles Botta, director of MACK Solutions, highlighted the multifaceted role of the building. “With this striking new construction, we are creating not only a special place for daily catering but also a space that fosters collaborative work, encounters, and well-being. What may appear at first glance to be 'just' a canteen, production kitchen, and changing rooms is in fact much more. This building will be the backbone of our daily operations.” In addition to the restaurant, it integrates practical facilities such as 1,500 new lockers for personal storage and a modern shower area.
The employee restaurant will particularly expand its offerings for health-conscious employees with a “FeelGood Counter.” Fresh and nutrient-rich dishes will be available there, developed in collaboration with the FeelGood Health Center founded by Miriam Mack. This addition seamlessly complements the existing culinary options and promotes balanced nutrition in the daily life at Europa-Park.
Markus Huber, managing director of Rendler Bau, praised the close partnership. “Europa-Park is very important for all businesses. Up to 1,000 craftsmen are deployed here. It's great that your entrepreneurial spirit always pushes us forward and allows us to try out new construction methods. I thank you for your trust in the craftsmen of the region.” The collaboration with regional companies underscores the local character of the project.
Sustainability is at the heart of the new employee restaurant. Heating and cooling of the rooms will be handled by an efficient air-water heat pump, supplemented by a ventilation system with heat recovery. These measures contribute to energy efficiency and the goal of climate neutrality at Europa-Park, reflecting the responsible approach of the family-owned company.
