Liseberg Unveils New Family Ride Stormvåg for 2026

Gothenburg's Liseberg amusement park has unveiled its new attraction for summer 2026. The family ride "Stormvåg," which translates to "storm surge" in Swedish, is a Wild Swing XL from manufacturer Art Engineering. The attraction accommodates up to 24 passengers in a gondola that swings into the air. Thematically, it fits with its maritime design into an existing area where the mirror maze "Kristallsalongen" stood for many years.

Integration of the Attraction into the Park

The new attraction "Stormvåg" integrates seamlessly into the maritime style of the area. The concept and design come from Alex Korting Themed Entertainment Design and David Schofield, Liseberg's creative director. Visitors need a minimum height of 105 centimeters to ride when accompanied.

Comprehensive Development Plan

"Stormvåg" is part of a comprehensive development plan that has been under implementation since 2013. As part of this plan, not only is the new attraction being created, but also further beautification projects, including new restroom facilities and lockers to upgrade the area.

Assessments by Park Officials

Kenneth Berndtsson, operations manager at Liseberg, describes "Stormvåg" as reminiscent of the classic Topspin, but now the whole family can ride together. He views it as a step toward somewhat more intense attractions like Uppswinget and Loke. CEO Andreas Andersen sees "Stormvåg" as an important step in the park's further development and enhancement of its attractiveness.

Technical Details of the Attraction

"Stormvåg"'s technical details include a capacity of 24 people per ride, with 12 people sitting back-to-back. The attraction reaches a height of 14.5 meters. Information on ride tickets will be available soon.
