The Beak and Barrel: New Pirate Tavern in Magic Kingdom

Starting August 29, 2025, Walt Disney World will open The Beak and Barrel, a pirate-themed tavern in Magic Kingdom Park. This new attraction in Adventureland invites visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in pirate life. With tropical drinks, small bites, sing-alongs, and storytelling, it promises fresh energy. Reservations are now available and highly recommended to secure the experience.

Food and Beverage Offerings

The Beak and Barrel draws on elements from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and the Pirates of the Caribbean films to immerse guests in a captivating story. Food options include Island Provisions, a shareable dish of plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and roasted flatbread served with hearty dips. Another choice is Kraken's Katch, a cold salad with octopus tentacles marinated in lemon and lime juice, enhanced by olives, peppers, avocado, and piquillo pepper-almond foam.

Among the drinks, The Cursed Treasure stands out as an alcohol-free mix of coconut milk and cookie crumbs, topped with vanilla foam and a pirate gold cookie, suitable for the whole family. For adults, there is the Plunderer's Punch with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, blackberry, vanilla, and citrus notes, served in a souvenir pirate skull mug that guests can take home - with a limit of one per person. The menu also features a selection of cocktails, wines, spirits, and exclusive draft beers.

Immersive Details

As soon as guests enter The Beak and Barrel, they dive into pirate life, surrounded by magical elements. Between meals, sing-alongs draw visitors in as they stomp to sea shanties or exchange stories with pirates from the Seven Seas. The tavern offers immersive areas like The Mess, the Mapmaker's Room, and the Captain's Quarters, each filled with countless details. Ships in bottles engaged in battles and rooms where pirate secrets can be revealed ensure no visit is the same.

The Mess

The Mess serves as the central space, once a dining hall for Spanish soldiers that was captured by pirates. Upon entering, the ship's bell catches the eye, rumored to come from Captain Redd's first ship and gifted to Merry for the tavern's founding, with some saying they were close friends or perhaps bitter rivals. Long tables invite storytelling, while an anchor turned chandelier with candles creates atmosphere. Mermaid windows, salvaged from a wreck, are encrusted with barnacles and hold secrets. At the end of the room lies The Brig, a dark corner with bars and the framework from its former life, though the door nearby was torn from its hinges long ago, and some say the walls remember every rogue they once held, so guests should mind their manners.

Cursed Bar

The skull-shaped bar in The Mess holds rare bottles and loot behind lock and key, having heard many sea shanties in its shadow. At its center sits the Enchanted Rum Bottle, an ornate bottle of grog gifted by a powerful sorceress that keeps the tavern's barrels and cheer flowing as long as the bottle stays full, and hopefully no one has to ask why the rum is gone. Rummy, perched on the bar, greets guests with stories, jokes, or songs from the hollow of the skull's eye.

Captains' Quarters

The Captains' Quarters offer a touch of luxury, once the private residence of the Spanish comandante, with walls lined in grand manner and rich hangings, though time and the rough hands of pirates have left marks from slashing blades and hot embers. A fireplace with miniature ships in bottles that come to life and battle dominates the room. Along the walls are niches with carved panels telling pirate legends. A private salon invites games, with traces of past rounds as a warning for any bandit thinking of bending the rules.

Mapmaker's Room

The Mapmaker's Room overflows with rolled maps, parchment scraps, spilled ink, and many treasured secrets that belonged to a pirate cartographer some call mad. Visitors gather around the expansive worktable in the center of the room, where the cartographer would have spread out tools and set to work, while a large painted map on the adjacent wall holds pirate secrets waiting to be discovered.

The Beak and Barrel Merchandise

Guests can acquire souvenirs in the adjacent Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, including a The Beak and Barrel T-shirt and a parrot shoulder plush companion to commemorate the stay.

What to Know Before Visiting

The 45-minute experience is suitable for all ages and takes place in an enclosed space with low lighting and lively activity.
