Rulantica in January 2026: Busy at the Start, Then Minimal Crowds During Nordic Lights Festival

Anyone who bet on absolute relaxation at Rulantica in January 2026 was not disappointed. The Nordic water adventure park started with average to slightly increased attendance in the first days of January, but then became wonderfully quiet for the majority of the month – the perfect opportunity for everyone who enjoys short wait times and plenty of space.

January 2 was the busiest day of the month with 61 percent attendance and average wait times of 17.5 minutes. This was caused by New Year’s Day and the ongoing Christmas holidays in Germany, France and Switzerland. Attendance remained moderate to slightly increased until January 5.

From January 6 onward, true calm returned. With the end of the holidays, attendance dropped to very low to minimal levels. From January 12 to 15, the park was practically empty with 0 percent attendance. Attractions were freely accessible, paths were empty and there was plenty of space everywhere. It also remained minimal from January 16 to 18.

From January 19, the Nordic Lights Festival started and brought a slight increase in attendance while keeping levels very pleasant. It remained minimal from January 19 to 23. In the last week of January, there were only moderate increases: On January 24 attendance was low, on January 25 minimal, from January 26 to 30 minimal to very low. The month ended on January 31 with moderate attendance of 38.8 percent.

The weekly rhythm was clearly visible: Saturdays showed the highest attendance with moderate levels throughout the month, Sundays were very low, Mondays also very low, Tuesdays and Wednesdays minimal, Thursdays and Fridays low. Visitor numbers typically rose from 10 a.m., peaked between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and then decreased continuously.

At the attractions, the thrill slides led the wait-time statistics: Vinter Rytt was at the top, followed by Svalgur Rytt and Stormvind. Två Fall, Munin and Hugin were in the middle range, Isbrekker, Vildstrøm, Dugdrob, Vildfål, Vikingløp and Tønnevirvel in the lower range. Due to the overall low attendance, wait times remained very short even for these highlights.

January 2026 was therefore ideal for those seeking peace and quiet and for everyone who wanted to experience the Nordic Lights Festival in a relaxed atmosphere – especially on weekdays between January 6 and 23 with minimal crowds and simultaneous magical ambiance. A month that especially rewarded fans who consciously chose the quieter time.
