Today, the Efteling Post Office opens its doors, inviting visitors to send free, enchanting winter greeting cards to loved ones or strangers through nonprofit organizations. The post office on Anton Pieck Square fits perfectly into the nostalgic atmosphere of Winter Efteling and will remain open until at least March 1, with the postman available on weekends and during school holidays from noon to 6 p.m.
The Efteling Post Office is located next to the De Smulpaap eatery and opens daily during regular Efteling operating hours. The postman assists guests in crafting personal messages, making the sending process straightforward and free. Even after the holidays, the option to send heartwarming notes persists—after all, mail connects people year-round.
Writing a card becomes a shared moment with the postman, where a winter greeting message takes shape. Visitors choose the recipient: a familiar person from their circle or an unknown individual via a nonprofit organization. The postman hands over the desired card, on which guests scribble a heartfelt message, and all that remains is to drop it into the right mailbox.
The initiative proves especially heartwarming on select December weekends. On December 6, 7, 13, and 14, special mailboxes invite postcards to be sent to people who could use a bit of extra warmth during the holidays. In partnership with the National Foundation for the Elderly, Efteling ensures these greeting messages arrive exactly where they are needed. Starting December 20, portraits of heroes from the Oranje Fund adorn the post office walls. Guests select an inspiring figure, request a card from the postman, and send a message, a wish, or an enchanting note to that figure.
The cards at the Efteling Post Office feature the 2025 December stamps. These stamps transport recipients to a world full of wonders, where fairy tales come alive right at the edge of a card or envelope. The series features ten fairy tales: nine classics that have enchanted generations and one new story specially written for PostNL. Purchasing two or more sheets of December stamps includes a unique fairy tale book containing all ten stories featured on the stamps—while supplies last.
The 2025 December stamps have been available since November 10 at all PostNL outlets in the Netherlands, the PostNL webshop, and various Efteling souvenir shops. Leftover sheets of Christmas stamps remain valid after the holidays. They can be used for regular mail by adding a €0.25 surcharge stamp.
A visit to the Efteling Post Office enhances the Winter Efteling experience. Visitors can wander from the wintry Fairy Tale Forest, where Long Neck already wears his cap, to the nostalgic Anton Pieck Square and join in the merry entertainment around the bonfire. For that authentic Winter Efteling vibe, they can take a spin on the ice rink at the Warm Winter Meadow and browse the funniest Efteling souvenirs in one of the chalets. They can warm up by the fire with a bite or a drink, gazing at the sparkling, more-than-man-sized Wonder Winter Tree.
The ghostly spectacle *Danse Macabre*, brimming with dark twists, captivates audiences during Winter Efteling. From the new Efteling Grand Hotel, guests step directly into Winter Efteling, while the other hotels and vacation parks are just a short walk away. A stay at Efteling always includes unlimited park access, allowing guests to savor all the winter wonders at their leisure.
