Alsace Day at Europa-Park: Bretzel d’Or for Mack Family

On September 21, 2025, the traditional Alsace Day took place at Europa-Park, Germany's largest theme park, where numerous visitors experienced a festive program with atmospheric entertainment offerings and musical performances. The highlight was the awarding of the Bretzel d’Or to the Mack family, owners of the park, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Awarding of the Bretzel d’Or

The Institute of Arts and Popular Traditions of Alsace honored the Mack family for their great commitment to Franco-German friendship. With around 1,200 French employees, the family business contributes to strengthening relations. Innovative projects such as the Strasbourg-based MACK One innovation campus promote economic development in Alsace. In addition, the family supports tourist development through the restoration of the historic Château Ollwiller along with its traditional winery in Haut-Rhin.

Unveiling of the Alsatian Street

As part of Alsace Day, the street sign for the new Alsatian Street was ceremoniously unveiled. Representatives of the municipality of Rust carried out the unveiling in the presence of the Mack family, Grand Est regional councilor Dyna Peter-Ott, and Daniel Fischer, mayor of Marlenheim, the partner municipality of Rust. The street, which connects the western town of Silver Lake City with the visitor parking lot and offers a view into Alsace, symbolizes the close relationship between Rust and Alsace. It also marks another milestone in the traffic master plan of Europa-Park and the municipality of Rust.
